Not as good as the previous entries, but still a mostly enjoyable sci-fi read.
While the first and second books were thoroughly enjoyable reads and provided an in depth look into the world of DOOM, this one began to introduce a lot of convoluted story pieces and questionable decisions made in regards to characters and how the story would progress. Still not a bad read and a nice follow on, but a little complicated and slow.

Running out of steam
First book was good fun, the second was weaker but had some nice touches. This one was poor, though not as bad as the fourth and final installment, which makes you annoyed to have pushed through. Essentially, the further the story moved from the game, the worse it got.

It's not really Doom anymore...
Yeah, so it isn't really Doom anymore, but it's still a great read! I would definitely recommend it if you have finished the first two books.

Keep your expectations in check after books 1 and 2
The story now drifts (quite sharply) away from being anything about the original games. It starts out pretty decent, but once they go chasing off into space then it gets rather surreal. It's also when things really start going wrong for the four heroes and the lovely little "family" they had going and that I got attached to, so this always tugged at my heart a bit, and not in a good way.The authors' lack of naming imagination really starts to grate in this with names like "Freds" and a funny little double alien thing named after some US department store. It's interesting for how surreal it all is but unless you'd really keen on seeing the books through (to be fair, I was) I'd stop at 2.

Ultimate Hell
Following the events of 'Doom: Hell On Earth', it begins with Fly, Arlene, Jill and Albert at a U.A.C. base in Hawaii. As Fly and Arlene tell the base sergeant their missions, Jill is shown around the Hell - study facility, where we learn some interesting information on Hell's armies. After the incident at the base, they recieve information that a signal is comming from somewhere beyond the Gates on Phobos, apparently someone on 'our'side is trying to contact us.So, back to Phobos for Fly and Arlene, together with a marines sergeant, Haggart. Jill and Albert are left on Earth, Arlene marries Albert, not much point - as it'll be two hundred years before they get back. The storyline is good, but distracting, - Hell only attacked Phobos, Deimos and Earth! Once again, the authors continue to try and persuade us they are not Hell's Legions when any fan knows they are.Who called them'The Freds' anyway?Buy this book by all means, it is good, but starts the downhill plunge that will continue through 'Doom: Endgame'.

terrible
The book was terrible because it involves allsorts of rubbish and it got of the proper team of doom and became an intergalactic war which is not what doom is supposed to be about. And whoever came up with the idea of calling the aliens the freds.the book is terrible and thats all i have left to say.
