Yes, it'll run at 5120x1440 just fine. A few newer titles might need a one or two settings reduced at full resolution in order to keep above 60fps all you won't notice if it dips on occasion as the C49RG90 is Freesync 2 & G-sync compatible.

I’m toying between this and the Philips 439P9H - any thoughts?

When I was doing my research I choose the one the suited what I did regular. I believe there was different choices for price, with speakers, for gaming. I have no regrets with my screen, I have had no problems and I use my screen 8-10 hours a day 6 days a week. I hope this was helpful.
