My company has a contract with HP and when we moved from leasing Elitebook G1 and G2 laptops to the G3 laptops, the power adapters no longer fit. This adapter worked to allow me to continue to use my old power adapters with the new laptop.I would recommend this to anyone who want to delay the planned obsolescence of their Elitebook power adapters.

Had a bunch of older model chargers but needed an extra for the newer HP, and this was perfect in preventing the need to spend more to purchase a new charger.

I could not find a 12 volt power adapter for my new HP 840 G3, this adapts my 12v G1 adapter to work.

I bought this for my old laptop charger and fits perfect

Tried to use this on a 65w smart power adapter with the larger barrel connector for an HP G2 on an HP G3 and the G3 didn't recognize the power supply, didn't use the power or charge the battery. It's only six bucks so not a huge loss, but don't waste your money.
