OXO Good Grips Precision Handheld Mandoline, Mandoline Slicer, Adjustable Thickness Vegetable Slicer for Everyday Prep

I love this mandolin. I’ve had more expensive ones, and they can’t even just slice a piece of food, only dice them. How frustrating it was to discover that the expensive ones can’t do even basic functions! This OXO precision mandolin has been a joy to use. You can slice things using different widths, but it can also julienne or dice vegetables. I’ve had a lot of success using OXO products before, and they never let me down. It’s also the highest rated mandolin of its type by America’s Test Kitchen. That’s very important to me, knowing that it’s been rigorously tested, and found to be the best in the category. This mandolin also has a guard to save your fingers and hands from getting cut, which I have done many times before! It attaches to the back of the mandolin, so it’s always handy to use. No more digging for a guard, and giving up, only to cut yourself. It’s also dishwasher safe, sturdy in your hands as well. The only 2 drawbacks in my eyes, that it doesn’t have a stand for easier control, it doesn’t have a good slip resistant rubber piece on the bottom, making it difficult to control without the stand. Even with those two concerns, it’s still a great product, and well priced. I’m very happy with my purchase.

I’m really enjoying using this product. It does a good job and has easy cleanup. It’s not too complicated. I find it to be sharp but not super sharp. As an example if I’m cutting a tomato sometimes I have to saw it back-and-forth to get a nice even cut. Overall, this does a good job on a variety of different vegetables and I’m happy with it. I particularly like the cleanup, which takes just minutes to rinse and wipe off when you’re done.

Needed a mandoline to slice several cucumbers extra thin for sandwiches. It works great and with ease! The blades are adjustable to several thicknesses. The mandoline closes tight when not in use to minimize any accidental cuts. Easy to use!

Pro: accurate gauge from 1/16 to 1/4 inch, easy to use, pusher attaches nicely to the base for easy storage. Sharp blade. Cons: pusher doesn’t work well for small things like radishes (which it slices well)- I use a fork to hold them, but it would be helpful to have a pusher that accommodates a variety of veggies. Things get stuck - see picture. Doesn’t handle onions as well as I would like. Overall- I’m using it regularly and it is an improvement over the cheaper handheld mandoline that I have been using for years. Blade is sharp (but not sure how long that will last). Can quickly and evenly slice up to 1/4 inches of veggies like zucchini, cucumbers, potatoes. Wish list: increase to 1/4 inch, pusher for various sized vegetables.

Cannot stress enough how much time this device has saved me.

I like being able to dial for different widths and the julienne function, instead of having to switch blades out. I don't have to risk losing blades or risk cutting myself when I change them. The design for the handguard protects your fingers and makes it so you won't end up slicing the handguard nubs off like with other makes. I've used it a lot on hard vegetables like potatoes, turnips, and jicama, and to get the peel off squash, and the blade has remained sharp as ever. Just like the brand name, it's easy to grip, which I especially appreciate.

Everything OXO is excellent and high quality as usual. Never any regrets with OXO purchases. Very functional and easy to clean. Highly recommend

MINA ERFARENHETER: RESULTAT: Jag har testat att skiva allt från potatis och gurka till zucchini och morötter. Resultatet blir perfekt varje gång, oavsett om man vill ha lövtunna skivor eller lite tjockare. INSTÄLLNINGAR: Det är superenkelt att justera tjockleken med reglaget på sidan, och jag uppskattar de tydliga markeringarna. SÄKERHET: Handtaget har ett riktigt bra "non-slip"-grepp som gör att den ligger stadigt i handen. Det finns också ett låst läge för bladet, vilket känns tryggt när den ligger i lådan. Je suis vraiment ravi de cet achat. Cette mandoline OXO Good Grips est drôlement pratique au quotidien. Voici ce que j'en retiens après utilisation : • Une précision redoutable : Elle coupe avec une précision extrême. On sent que la lame est de haute qualité. Pour être honnête, je trouve qu'elle coupe même bien mieux que notre ancienne mandoline de chez Microplane. • Réglage enfantin : Pas besoin de sortir la notice à chaque fois, le réglage de l'épaisseur se fait très simplement grâce à la petite réglette sur le côté. C'est intuitif et rapide. • Sécurité au top : Le "pousse-légume" (l'espèce de bazar pour coincer les aliments) est super bien conçu. Il accroche parfaitement les oignons, carottes ou fruits, ce qui permet de couper sans craindre pour ses doigts. • Rangement malin : Le gros plus, c'est que cet accessoire de protection se clipse directement à l'arrière de la mandoline. C'est un gain de place énorme et ça évite de le perdre au fond d'un tiroir. En bref : Un ustensile de qualité, bien pensé et très efficace. Je recommande sans hésiter !
