Easy to set up. Done within 10 minutes.
I looked at a lot of Wifi security cameras before settling on trying this one. I'm so glad I did choose this model. A friend of mine had a 4 camera system installed in their home at a cost of ยฃ1200.00 and there was no way I could afford that so I looked for something in my price range I can add to. This camera is built well. Good sturdy feel. The installation was so easy. Ok you may need help putting it on a wall and running the cables to a power socket if you are not up to the job but the actual pairing of the camera to my home WiFi and installing the netsee app and pairing the camera to my phone was a breeze. All done in 10 minutes with no fuss. Before installing it permanently, I first set it up in my bedroom so I could test the night vision while having the camera in view. An alarm kept going off (A noise emanating from the camera itself) so I looked through the settings and found how to set the alarm time, turn off the audible sound on the camera and also speak directly through the camera. I then set it up it up down in my garden on an outbuilding over 100 feet from the house. The signal was fine. No drop out at all at that range. I also discovered while watching a fox that was in my garden that a double tap on the screen zooms the picture in. Finally I have set the camera up covering our driveway to keep an eye on our cars and people entering the property. The image day and night is very crisp. You can hear through the camera as well as speak through it. The app works fine. I set the alert time from 1am to 6am and it's sent me alerts every time there has been movement outside in its sensitivity range. I have it set to low but it still pick everything up. You can add more cameras to the app which I intend to do to have the back and side of my home covered by them. I've tested the app away from home and viewed live footage with no problem. I can see on the app how I will switch between camera views which will be great. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars on picture quality is that there is a slight slow down on motion. It's not 100% smooth. But that's only a slight slow down. Nothing to really bother me. All in all when I can get my home covered by this system for under ยฃ150 compared to my friends ยฃ1200.00 it's a no brainer. If you are on a budget. It's worth it.

Great Cam for a Great Price! So good, I bought a Second!
I bought one of these without really knowing what I was getting into, but have to say that this is great! I just plugged mine in before putting it up to sync it to the app (this is must - don't try after putting it up!). When syncing, ensure that your phone volume is turned up. The app (NetSee) if fairly easy to use, video IS continually recorded onto the SD card which again, you must install before putting up the camera. The 'Playback' page on the app lets you choose the date and time that you want to view, and this is then downloaded from the camera to your phone. You can choose to take snapshots or video from this by pressing the corresponding buttons. These snapshots/videos will be stored on your phone. My 64GB SD card stores around 6 days of HD recording, double that for SD recording, so you may consider getting a 128GB SD card for longer recording. The alerts are controlled on the settings page under 'Alarm', setting the alarm to 'ON' will give you choices for the time to monitor, alarm sound (whether you actually want an audible alarm or not - I switched mine onto silent as I don't want the neighbours to get annoyed every time a postman comes). Also you can adjust the sensitivity here, even on 'LOW', mine alarms when cars go past. With alarm set to 'ON', you will get an alert on your phone, however the app still has to download the clip from the camera, which again you can choose to record from onto your phone. The picture quality is excellent during the day, night vision is excellent too, with a clear greyscale picture. While the supplied lead on the camera is short, extensions can be bought fairly cheaply on Amazon. The lead on the camera was long enough to get through my external wall, leaving around 2 inches inside. Overall, I think that this is an excellent product, with great support too (their support answered my email within 24 hours). As I said, I was impressed enough to buy a second for the back of the house, so highly recommend this.

Updated review, just completely useless!! Waste of money! AVOID!
Not a bad camera, robust casing. The only issue is they are so sensitive to movement that even the wind blowing the foliage of plants in the garden or raindrops will send notifications constantly to your mobile which is very very annoying!! I set it to the lowest possible sensitivity and still it goes off constantly (only if you leave the app open in the background) So pretty much pointless in detecting say a person in the garden! Useful if you (like me) keep checking the cameras constantly remotely (looking at my koi pond) being notified there's a person / animal in close proximity of the camera useless!!! Good thing is that if you do happen to be looking at the camera at the exact time of an intruder, you can shout "piss off" through the camera to startle them!! **Update** Complete rubbish, so annoyed! So a couple of little kids keep coming and banging on my front door... go to the app to review the video... nothing! Cannot find playback! What is the point? Complete waste of money on 2 of these paper weights!

Camera great - Software not so great.
The construction of the camera is well thought out. The allen keys allow the camera to be mounted and positioned at any angle or rotation. (I installed the camera upside-down under the eves of the house pointing down at an angle. Installation was straight forward (although it would have been even easier if I had first attached the wifi aerial!) and access to the device from my iphone also went very smoothly. I do however recommend that you do the initial installation at your desk before installing at it's final position. To get the most use out of the device you should install a memory card, I have installed the largest it takes, 128Gb and I have been running now for nearly a month and it is almost full using the HD mode. I don't know if it depends on how much movement there is in the image (and whether or not data compression would have an effect). Now onto the software. Software for the iPhone is a download from the App Store (NetSee) and I understand there is a similar download for the Android device. The software allows the following. * Remote configuration changes to the camera. e.g. recording mode (smooth, sd or hd), formatting the micro-sd card, timezone setting (I think that the card gets it's time from an Internet time service), and a few more settings that I have not had to use yet. * Play one of the recordings from the camera memory-card (it indexes by year, month, day and hour). * Real-time view of the camera. * Take a snapshot of the currently playing video. Alas, it does not allow you to save a video of either one of the recorded videos. This is my biggest gripe about the software. If you want to run a client on Windows or a Mac however you are told to run an android emulator (Bluestacks) which then allows you to download and run the Android client. This only gives you the same functionality as the Android application so still no video saving. At this point I should mention that I got a rapid response to my first support request and they answered one of my three questions. They gave me a link to a download for a native windows application. All I can say of this is 'don't bother'. You can do all of the functions as you can on the iphone but the application only plays live video for exactly 60 seconds then freezes (audio still plays, but no video) and the only way to unfreeze it is to close the app and restart. Back to the inability to save a recorded video... The only approach that I have found is to enable the screenshot video recording feature of iPhone (I don't know if there is an equivalent for Android) and record the video as it is being played back. This is not really a useful function, most times you want to save a pre-recorded session. A second option is to exchange the memory card in the camera every month and save those videos that you want to save by reading the memory card from your PC. I have had limited success with this, the card holds raw .264 files and so far I have only managed to convert it to a useful function using an on-line service. I am looking for a native application that will do the conversion. I will update when found. Geeky bit warning! A final option I would like to experiment with is to interface directly to the camera via its IP address (it installs to your router via wifi using DHCP and from what I have see so far it used a SOAP API over HTTPS. I gather that it communicates to a central computer (presumably in China) that allows any phone which has been registered to the camera to view it. The security aspects of this may need to be investigated so if you are concerned about your video being accessible from anywhere in the world you may want to consider a different camera, for example one that runs its own web browser (although this may be more difficult to set up and to ensure security) . So in summary, great camera, good quality, but some shortcomings with the supplied software and no way that I have found (yet) to run alternative software.

Fantastic value and great quality
I bought this item after wanting an outdoor camera for a while now. I was always put off by the cost, the potential for cloud storage fees and the general expense vs benefit. I decided to buy this camera as I thought 1. No cloud storage and 2. It is cheap but has very good reviews. If after spending ยฃ30it turned out to be rubbish I wouldn't feel like I've made an expensive mistake. I've had this 1 week now and like other reviews it's easy to set up as long as you are prepared to drill a 12mm diameter hole in whatever wall you want to mount it on. Apart from that it was easy. App is basic enough but does everything you'd expect. Overall, I'm very impressed at the build quality, ease of set up, no cloud storage fees and picture quality. Would recommend and would buy another

Great camera, non-existent support
Purchased this 2 weeks ago and, for a non-tech person, it was relatively easy to set up. Added a 5 meter power extension to my order to get it to the nearest socket as the cable supplied is only 1.5m. App quite good and easy to learn the different settings. Great picture quality, both day and night vision. Does everything I wanted very well and worked perfectly. Occasional freezing which I've put down to our slow internet connection, but I've hung a ribbon in view of the camera which catches the breeze, so I can now see when it might have frozen. All-in-all REALLY pleased with the purchase. Then 2 weeks later, it just stopped working, saying the camera was offline. Did all the switching off and on again, restarting router, checking wifi signal, connections and had a thoroughly frustrating weekend trying to get it working again. Eventually sent an e-mail to the manufacturer asking for help which was returned! In a last ditch attempt before returning to Amazon as faulty, I deleted the camera from the app and set it up again from scratch..... It's now working again! I suppose it's good that I now know the process of trying to resolve it's issues, but I was ready to smash it to bits and am still more than a bit concerned that the e-mail address given on the feeble instructions for support is not available.

Amended Review
I was initially quite annoyed with the way this camera goes offline. I didn't have any issue with the setup and the camera quality is fine, day and night although HD/SD weren't as good as smooth. I left a fairly rubbish review because after spending ยฃ50 I expected better. I Emailed CPVAN to ask for help with the issues and they simply sent me a new one? No quibble, no messing around and it arrived in less than a week from when I sent the initial email. I don't know if they have a dodgy batch or what but I have to install this new one now. You cant crib about the customer service, they have been fantastic so I am amending my review and rating because even if the product is not 100% ( I haven't installed the replacement yet) my only issue was the going offline, the camera quality was fab when it worked and they sent me another. Thank you CPVAN !

Easy to Set Up - No Spurious Cables
I researched many options for a WIFI Camera and decided on this one as in addition to many favourable reviews and reasonable price I notices that the only cable emanating from the camera was the power cable. Most of the others that I looked at seemed to have at least one other cable - usually with a RJ45 network socket attached to do initial set up. This would mean that you either have to have the spurious wires hanging down, hide them in a junction box or drill massive holes in the wall. This camera is set up wirelessly and just required a 12mm hole to pass the power through. Set up was quick and easy (I didn't need to contact support although they do give a direct email address if you need it) and the picture quality is good, although the night vision is not quite as clear as I would have wished but you can't have everything for less than 50 quid. One point to make is that once you have a micro SD card installed (I put a 128GB in) it records continuously but some people reviewing seem to think you have to press the record button to do that. What they are probably missing is that there is a playback button on the app where you can choose you date and time then watch what was recorded. depending on what size card you use ad if you use SD or HD quality depends how much is recorded before it gets over written. It records in 1 or 2 hourly chunks for you to playback.
