This book is awesome. What better way to convince your 4 year ...
This book is awesome. What better way to convince your 4 year old to eat fruits and vegetables than to create a story about how a shrinking kid has to eat fruits and vegetables in order to grow! For a 4 year old, the words to pictures ratio is pretty high, but the story flows pretty nicely and my son, Zachary, was engaged throughout the whole story. What parent hasn't told his son or daughter that eating fruits and vegetables would make you grow stronger and bigger. Yeah, the story might be a little corny for adults but not for little kids. This book was better than the one in which the rabbit refused to eat carrots. I definitely plan on reading this book over and over to my son so that he can eat his broccolis and carrots and apples. In fact, the last meal he ate, he ate some broccoli and commented on how he wanted to eat as many fruits and vegetables so that he could get bigger! Anything to get the kids to eat vegetables is a great book!I was given the Kindle edition of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Nice story and illustrations - and is free on Kindle at the moment.
This review is for the Kindle Version only.I believe this is the first book of a collection, or in any case it is part of a series of bunny stories. Really lovely. My daughter just turned 3, and she likes when I read her stories - especially, she is finally starting to understand things and therefore it is even more pleasurable to sit next to her. She can have a look at the illustrationsl, follow the story and talk about all the things that come to her mind.WHAT I LIKE:- The story is really nice and well written.- The illustrations are well made and kids love bunnies (I don't think you have you ever seen a child who does not, right?), so that makes this book even more interesting.- It is not too short, so older kids can actually enjoy it as well when they read this book by themselves.- It teaches children, they can really learn and remember things. That is great!- I am sure that the actual book (paperback/ hardcover) is much nicer than the kindle version. I somehow was expecting the kindle version to be a bit better... but I still like it.WHAT I DON'T LIKE:- On the kindle there are a lot of white pages, with only little text and no image.- It would be nicer if the illustrations were a bit bigger.- "FREE VIDEO-BOOK INSIDE"... do you want to watch the video-book? Ok so... click here.... and now insert your e-mail.. and then receive an e-mail with a link to confirm, which also confirms your SUBSCRIPTION. What if I don't want to subscribe because I don't want to keep receiving emails?Overall, I would still recommend it, especially since it is free!

Do your kids love candy? Maybe this will help them try vegetables!
I love to Eat Fruits and Vegetables by Shelley Admont was a cute little kids book. This was a pretty quick read, has nice illustrations. In this book we find Jimmy (and 2 nameless brothers) getting ready for lunch. Jimmy decides he needs candy BEFORE lunch and goes to find it. Trouble shortly follows. SPOILER ALERT: Jimmy does not get the candy- he does climb a tower he constructs out of a chair, cookbook, and a pot and falls down. Then he shrinks, and needs vegetables to grow quickly. The climbing section did nothing to help my child- she is a climber, and a candy sneak. This book may encourage your child to eat more vegetables, but really is just a cute story about a bunny who doesn't eat veggies. Poor Jimmy's brothers still do not have names, and I again forgot to name them myself. It's not a bad book, see below for the preschooler's review. I did receive this book at a discount or free. My review was not influenced by that.Almost 5 year old's review:What did you like about this book?- I liked it a lot, because of the candy pictureFavorite part?- The CANDY, cuz I love candy!Did you learn anything?- Yeah, I learned if you just eat candy you'll shrink and not grow up. If I just eat candy I won't grow up to be a firefighter.Do you think you will eat more veggies?- Yeah, but not broccoli, I hate broccoli.Anything else you want to say?- This is a kind of good book.

Great story with great illustrations... plus my kid tried tomatoes afterward!
As a parent of a six year old, I am engaged in constant struggle, trying to get him to eat fruits and vegetables. I love books like this one that try to impart good values and behavior into children. It is amazing children relate to the characters of books and imitate their behavior. This book had a rather unexpected result.Without giving away too much of the story, this book teaches children that you cannot live by candy alone and must also eat fruits and vegetables. They are healthy. They make you grow big and strong. They are even delicious! In the story, Jimmy finds out that he actually LIKES fruits and vegetables.I liked that the story was short and easily understood by my child. I liked the illustrations. My child and I both enjoyed the story. What I really liked is that my son tried a piece of tomato tonight for dinner. While he says he didn’t like it, this is a good first step toward healthier eating. He only tried it after I pointed out that “Jimmy likes tomatoes.” Kudos to the author for that. For full disclosure, I did receive this item at a discounted rate in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. I am an avid Amazon customer and rely on honest reviews, like this one, to make my buying decisions. I am under no obligation to provide a positive review and receive no incentive or rewards for doing so.

A great & conscientious writer for children & parents
I don't believe that this is an instant solution for parents trying to get their kids to understand the benefits of eating fruits & veg. But small mouthfuls & regular reading have done the trick with my little girl who was previously convinced that school dinners of sausages & chips was actually good & 'real food'. We may not have much control about what they are eating whilst they are at school - but books like these get the message across gently devoid of parental nagging that achieves little else other than power struggles. A great & conscientious writer for children.

Children's eating lifeskills
Very good and entertaining. This review is by my seven year old daughter. She had fun reading it and thought it would be quite educational for children without any fruit or vegetable knowledge.

Amazing for growing 4 year olds....
I chose this rating because it was good to read and download it for my 7 year old sister. Now I read it to her all the time! This book is really funny and would recommend it to kids with younger siblings. Or parents with younger children.😇

My daugher (3) liked this book and it has helped her to understand she has to eat healthily as well as enjoying sweet things. She eats pretty healthily anyway, but the story reinforcces, and it helps that she is very fond of rabbits. Better than the usual children's simplistic books, more of a family all rounder. Would recommend.

not great for a 5 year old
Book is very very long winded, not great for a 5 year old, wasn't that engaging, too many words, and didn't like the illustrations. Sorry
