Sometimes the readings aren't stable even though the current draw is. Maybe caused by underhood RFI or EMI.

This probe was an order magnitude cheaper than the other probes and works as well as the Fluke probe I was also using. I'm using it to measure the LCD Heater performance so the current is DC and typically less than 0.5 amperes, so it works well at the low end. The probe has the banana plug shrouded to be used with a Fluke or KeySight meter, so I had to cut it back to use with other banana jacks which is not too much of a draw back. The zero button work quickly to correctly set the offset. I was also using this with a Scope and the sampling rate appeared good. This is a sweet little tool for the testing I was doing and covers the low current measurement I doing very well.

Must have for any automotive testing!
This low current amp clamp is a must have in your arsenal of electrical test tools. This in combination with an oscilloscope is a killer combo. You can see waveforms from window regulators, fuel pumps, lift pumps, etc. If you know what to look for, it can really save your hours of headache with troubleshooting. The zero button is much nicer than those with a little dial to help you zero out the tool. I believe this also has an auto shutoff if you forget and leave it on.

but we disassembled our old less expensive one and the wires are not shielded like they are in this one
They all may look the same, but we disassembled our old less expensive one and the wires are not shielded like they are in this one. Don't cheap out, you can't get reliable readings from a non-shielded unit which means you can't track that parasitic draw properly

Jaw diameter too small/Instructions woeful
For automotive applications like parasitic draw, this clamp's jaw opening is only 9mm or .35" which is too small for many (most) battery cables, while others are 12mm/1/2", even up to 19mm for multiple cable usage. I tried it on a Mini Cooper and the tool's jaw opening as small as it is it would not completely close which can alter the readout. Also, the instructions are wholly inadequate. The lowest price doesn't always win.

Seems to work good. Its a bit tricky to do the amp to millivolt conversion. My other meter amp probe combinations (Fluke, SnapOn ) have a dedicated amp probe conversion built into them, but for the price I will figure out where the decimal point should be.

Works great with snap on products
Works great with my vantage and verus
