No absolutely not. It's truly translucent. I have chocolate brown skin and it looks flawless.

How do you get the jar open? I feel like an idiot even asking this, but I have tried my best to get the plastic off the jar to no luck.

Twist it rotationally in a counterclockwise manner. It should open. Not sure why it’s not working for you. Good luck!
