Perfect Linux Compatibility
This Bluetooth adapter is a lifesaver for Linux users! My gaming PC had a built-in Bluetooth adapter that wasn't compatible with Linux, but this Krisnorey dongle solved that problem immediately. Plug and play - no driver hunting or configuration needed. Works flawlessly with my keyboard, mouse, and other peripherals. The connection is rock solid and stable - no dropouts, stuttering, or lag issues even during extended use. I'm using it on a USB extension cable running to my desk, so I can't fully comment on the advertised long-range capability, but at desktop distances it's been perfect. The dongle itself is compact and doesn't stick out awkwardly from the USB port, which is nice if you're worried about accidentally bumping it. For the price, this is an excellent value - especially considering how many "Linux compatible" adapters either don't work or require complicated setup. If you're running Linux and struggling with Bluetooth compatibility, this is an easy fix that just works. Highly recommended for anyone who needs reliable Linux support without the hassle.

Ignore the packaging and manual, the device does actually work with Linux (at least Rocky 9)
After several failed attempts at getting a Linux-compatible Bluetooth adapter I bought this one because it says on the Amazon page that it worked with Linux. Others hinted at it but did not operate. Surprise, surprise... the box and the manual SPECIFICALLY state that it does NOT work with Linux. Grrr. I plugged it in anyway... lo and behold, Bluetooth not only appeared in my settings on my Rocky 9 Linux box, it actually works.

Can Interfere with WiFi.
The adaptor works well, perhaps too well, as it slowed down my WiFi connection. I added a three foot extension cable and switched the WiFi to 5G and that fixed the problem. The range on the adaptor is very good, giving a stable connection to my speakers at more than 30 feet from the antenna.

Linux users: Finally an adapter that actually works well! Tested with Ubuntu 24.04 w/ kernel 6.14
I bought this on blind trust from description that it would work with Linux. I can confirm it does in fact work! OS is Ubuntu 24.04 with Kernel: 6.14. The range is fairly impressive, I am still connected to the PC two floors away and the audio is crackle free and clear. output from 'sudo dmesg | grep Bluetooth' [ 269.049812] usb 3-2.1.3.3: Product: Bluetooth 5.4 Radio [ 269.100179] Bluetooth: hci1: RTL: examining hci_ver=0a hci_rev=000b lmp_ver=0a lmp_subver=8761 [ 269.101079] Bluetooth: hci1: RTL: rom_version status=0 version=1 [ 269.101086] Bluetooth: hci1: RTL: loading rtl_bt/rtl8761bu_fw.bin [ 269.101824] Bluetooth: hci1: RTL: loading rtl_bt/rtl8761bu_config.bin [ 269.102422] Bluetooth: hci1: RTL: cfg_sz 6, total sz 30210 [ 269.353396] Bluetooth: hci1: RTL: fw version 0xdfc6d922 [ 269.432747] Bluetooth: MGMT ver 1.23 Anyway, you're going to be good to go with 5.4 bluetooth connectivity and its nice and stable.

Does not work on Linux
Specification says it is compatible with Linux. Box and instruction say it does not, I tried it didn't.

Works great with Linux.
Works great with Linux. Ready to go out of the box with no configuration necessary. I use it for a PS5 controller on Linux MInt 22.3 with steam. It's plugged in to the back of my PC, under a table, about 10ft. away. No fuss. No muss.

Do not expect backward compatibility with BT 5.3 devices
This seemed like just the thing I needed for better bluetooth range in my home. However, the wireless headset I bought last year simply will not connect with this device. I tried uninstalling all Bluetooth anything in my computer's Device Manager, rebooting, repeat, repeat. Still, my headset would only report "Pairing" but would not connect and I had no music through the headset. Apparently, this device is not quite as backward compatible as I expected. My headset works with Bluetooth 5.3, but the protocols get confused with 5.4 and this device is not adjusting as it should.

Works great with Linux, very good range
I am using Linux, openSUSE 6.0. The device works without issue. The range is very good. I am able to go to other parts of my house and stay connected. I have not tried it using windows as I don{t have any windows computers. I have been using it for audio. Update, tested with windows 11, worked very well. In bothe operating systems, the range was amazing compare other BT devices. I recommend this device!

Long Range with BT 5.4 - the real deal!
For the past few years, Iโve been running my PCs and laptops on Arch Linux and have never really had issues with peripherals or add-on purchases. I have a powerful HP AI Max PC thatโs fully featured in every wayโexcept it has no Bluetooth (yes, really!). I also own a Logitech MX Master 2S Bluetooth edition mouse, which I absolutely loveโitโs fantastic. I previously purchased two different Bluetooth adapters, including a highly recommended TP-Link model. Both had the same problem: theyโd work for a while, then intermittently freeze. The mouse would become unusable for 15โ20 seconds at a time. That might not sound long, but when it happens every few minutes, itโs incredibly frustrating. I tried the usual fixesโusing a slower USB 2.0 port, investing in a USB extension cable to adjust the adapterโs distance from the mouseโbut the issues persisted. I eventually gave up and switched to a corded mouse. Then I came across the Krisnorey long-range adapter with added Linux compatibility and decided to give it one final try. Installation was true plug-and-play. The Linux kernel handled everything in the background, and boomโmy Logitech MX Master 2S connected instantly. Not a single freeze or stutter since. I keep the antenna in the upright position, and so far, performance has been brilliant. I hope it stays that way. Highly recommended if youโre struggling with range issues or have had compatibility problems with other adapters on Linux. This could be the one for you. Thank you.
