Perfect for the few crimps I needed to make
I am doing a Cargo trailer conversion and installing a few lights and water pump. I am going to be using a high amp/hour battery for my source power. I need # 6 AWG wires between the battery, shunt and fuse box. In short, I don't need to have hundreds of crimp connections. This worked perfect for me. The spring popped out once on me as I hit it with the hammer , but it wasn't sitting flat on the concrete. It popped right back in and has been fine since. I also used heat shrink tubes over the crimps. Low price for just a few crimps and it worked great.

Perfect crimps that won't pull out, easy to work with in a confined space
Worked great on a wide range of lug sizes while upgrading our RV to LiFePO4 batteries. The biggest were 4/0 and the smallest were 6AWG. In every case it made a perfect crimp that would not pull out of the lug. I found it much easier to use than a bolt-cutter style crimper when working in a confined space, and it was easy to keep the crimp and wire positioned right in the tool.

Lowest cost way to get an acceptable crimp, but with limitations.
What I liked about this was that this type of crimper is the least expensive of the options which will still produce a reliable crimp. I wasn't anticipating I would be doing a lot of crimping so the low cost option made sense to me. This crimper does indeed work, but ultimately was not suitable for my current needs. Basically, it's fine for assembling cables on the bench, but unusable when working with cable already installed in equipment. I thought I could get around that limitation by using a C-clamp with it but found it was impossible for me to keep the C-clamp from slipping off before enough force had been applied for a good crimp. I started to think of ways I could rig something up to make it work, but then realized it's just not worth my time and effort as compared to just buying a hydraulic tool. So that's what I ended up doing. I did consider getting a mechanical leverage crimping tool as that would have met my needs, but I found a hydraulic unit for not a lot of money that offers so much more versatility for future uses, that I went that way. In conclusion I do recommend this product for those who would only very occasionally need to make cables and can do so on a bench.

Great crimper for automotive use
Very sturdy high quality crimper. I used this in conjunction with other lugs that are available here on amazon and it has performed flawlessly. I primarily use it to crimp large wires for car audio systems, big 3 upgrades, and similar purposes. I use it in a vice to crimp wire and torque the heck out of it and it leaves me with a quality crimp that I know will perform well for a long time. Product claims to be rated to be used with a hammer but I just don't like the idea of using a hammer to crimp a wire when you can get some serious torque on it with a good vice. Overall would recommend and buy again.

Great crimp
Works great. Solid crimps with just a few smacks of a hammer. Spring loaded to hold lug in place. Made a few dozen connections with it and had not one failure.

Great
I found this while looking for a inexpensive alternative to crimp large gauge wires for a truck winch project. This worked great. I used a 3 lb hammer for my 2/0 wiring connection to lugs and Anderson plugs. The copper lugs clamped on real quick with a good hit. The Anderson connectors are really hard and took about a dozen hits, but it did the job. I found it best to do outside on the concrete driveway, after chipping my garage floor paint. Overall happy about the price, performance, and space savings.

Worked well
Crimped some 1/0 awg cable. Worked perfect. Few hits with a mini sledge and crimped fine. Definitely use it on cement.
