Rooting Compound (1/2 Pound)

WOW!! for this price its a lot!!! I have tried many other brands, expenive to cheap but honestly they are all the same stuff!!! this defenatly cost effective! I will be the loyal cusomer

I took some cuttings in the fall and wanted to overwinter them. I have been using this Hormodin powder and the cuttings have been getting incredible roots on them. I got this rooting powder on a personal recommendation from someone else in a dahlia cutting group who said it worked great for her. I have to agree. Look at my dahlia cuttings in my photo. You can see the roots popping out of the root riot cubes they are in.As a side note, wear gloves when using this product and read the product warning labels.A must have for those rooting dahlias from cuttings!

Keep in mind unless you are trying to propagate difficult-to-root varieties you will have success even without Hormodin or any other root inducer. With a root inducer you will speed up the natural process and increase your overall success rate.Hormodin 3 has the highest concentration of indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) at 0.8% by weight. Hormodin 1 has .1%, Hormodin 2 has .3%, and Hormodin 3 has .8% and the container has a chart that recommends which version to use based on the plant variety. The choice of which IBA content is based off of the plants natural hormone concentration. I have used this in conjunction with sulfur powder ( probably 60% sulfur to 40% Hormodin 3) with great results with cacti. I have had great results by itself with cacti, succulents, and roses.Only downside in my opinion is you have no option to purchase a smaller amount since a half pound states "will treat at least 17,500 average cuttings". This isn't a deal breaker for me, but I have a feeling that whatever the shelf life is of IBA is will come and go prior to me having used it all.

I am using this for my fall, hardwood cuttings, which will remain dormant until spring. I also will try it out on hard to root cuttings for spring.As a professional grower with 30 years of experience, I will advise to research your crop. This hormone comes in 3 levels for a reason. Usage of each level depends on the crop, ease of root ability, and time of year.
