A good quality replacement if only time was spent to make sure that it fitted correctly, as the top location fails to engage and once the screws are fitted the the eye piece is not secure. I reached out to the supplier but alas no response. So it's sadly going to be returned

Good replacement for original eye-piece hard surround rather than hollow rubber which wore out quickly. Order this item with the screws as original ones will not fit.

It does not have the rubber of the original so will probably last longer in that respect. It fits the R7 but the inside top is missing the proper recess for a "tongue" on the camera to fit into that the original has. Therefore the top is able to be pulled away. Sliding in and out of a camera bag may easily catch this.

Quality is average, it’s hard plastic with no soft rubber eye surround. However it doesn’t fit the R7 whatsoever. The countersunk holes in this aren’t threaded nor deep enough to take the screws, even placing the eyecup on the camera it’s plain to see it doesn’t align with the mounting points, so even if it did somehow screw in, it would be loose at the top and eventually fail. Doesn’t function as intended, doesn’t work, therefore terrible value for money.

This product is not an eyepiece. This is the backing plate for an eyepiece assembly. Not described accurately. However, what I received looked of good quality. The price of what I received seemed a bit steep for a mass produced piece of plastic. Unfortunately not what I thought I had ordered.

Screw snapped when trying to screw it in... Didn't align properly and cheap screw just snapped can't use it.

Holes line up, fit matches the R7 body, and it's easy to install if you have a tiny Phillips screwdriver. However, the original Canon eye cup has a locking groove at the top that holds the eye cup snugly in place. This replacement eye cup does not have the locking groove so the top of the eye cup is not snug and all the stress is placed on the two tiny screws to hold the eye cup in place during use. I don't think it will last very long with much use in the field.

Doesn't lock into place, the boss for the screws are not correctly drilled to accept them. Not a good product not compatible.

Junk ! It fits Canon R7 camera but once screws are tightened on the bottom of the piece, there is nothing that holds the top of the eye piece to the camera. It does not snap on or slide on . Waste of money!!!
