Size:9.90in. x 6.30in. x 1.25in. The IDEAL FT-45 Feed-Thru Mod Plug Crimp Tool is a simple, compact and highly effective crimp tool for installers and techs that terminates RJ45 connectors regularly. It has a single crimp cavity for RJ-5/8 position connectors that can be used with Feed-Thru, standard or shielded connectors for CAT-5E or CAT-6, a custom, replaceable, and heavy-duty cutting blade that will last for over 2,000 cuts and a mechanical design that requires only 1/3 to 1/2 the hand force of traditional tools to crimp the connector. No ratchet mechanism is needed and 1-handed crimping is possible. The tool is compact, 5 1/2 in. in length and weighs just over 1/2 lb. It has a textured grip, spring-loaded handle, locking hasp and has the 568A and 568B wiring scheme marked on it. A larger opening allows conductors to pass-thru without obstruction. The metal crimp cavity improves crimping consistency. The FT-45 cleanly shears the excess conductors and leaves a smooth flat finish to the end face of the connector. No protrusions or small lengths of conductor remain beyond the plastic face or the connector. This minimizes accidental shorting of conductors or inadvertent contact in plug jacks.

Excellent but limited
This is an outstanding tool. Lightweight, compact, easy to use. Makes a very close cut. Only problem is it does nothing else. No RJ-11/12, no jacket stripper and no cutter so we have to carry more tools. In the end it saves us no weight.

The Only Way to Go!
This along with it's "Feed-Thru" connectors is the only way to go. It makes it so easy and you know that it was done right the first time. Without it you will never really know if the wires are all connected very well or not.

Crimps, cuts and compact
So far so good. Had 2 platinum pro crimpers that both would not crimper one pin. This Ideal crimper crimps and cuts nicely. I like the compact form also.

Great crimps and cuts flush
Use it in my job at a Federal Prison and use another in my side work. Great crimps and cuts flush. They always test good and within cat5e standards.

Best 45 crimper yet.
Best 45 crimper out of the 4 I've owned. I would definitely suggest to a pro. A rookie should buy one that terminates RJ11's first, this ones only good for 45's which is no good...

Not for all connectors
Very cool crimper, but doesn't work on pass through connectors that have plastic bars that must also be sheared off such as the platinum tools cat 6 ones.
