Extraordinary Clouds

Pros and cons
I liked the scientific explanation for the cloud formations but the pictures weren't as clear as others I've seen in books. The worst part was the microscopic font. Also, the Forward and Intro were virtually impossible to read without a magnifying glass. White letters on a black background are difficult to read, at best. The printing was also faded in nearly every word on the second page of the Intro. I'm sure cost was the reason for the small book size but a standard font size would really improve the situation.

I want this book in a coffee-table size!
All the wide varieties of clouds, and their stunning portraits, make this book a real treasure. I just wish it was a larger format.Once you get a look at it, you'll agree. As a member of The Cloud Appreciation Society, I feel these gorgeous, beautifully executed photos deserve a place in my (growing) library of the firmament. If you are a newly acquainted sky-gazer, you'll find much at which to marvel and appreciate, as clouds are seemingly commonplace and unworthy of notice (unless you're getting rained on) and usually taken for granted. Introduce yourself to the delight of being a kid again, and wondering at the marvelous shapes, types and origins of the clouds for the price of merely looking up. The wealth of both familiar and bizarre formations and their explanations makes for a fun, enlightening and utterly lovely book.Buy this if you're into clouds. Buy this if you're not, and you will be!

Way overpriced!
First, let me just say that printed right on the back of the book the suggested retail price is $15 bucks! So it's sold here for $22...uh, they're making a profit at $15, so they're really gouging at $22. Next, the book is a small softback book...hardly worth the price. I was expecting nice big full color pics, but most are small and unremarkable at best. The clouds they are photographing are amazing, but the pics themselves are lacking. I bought this for a gift, so did not take the time to read it, but was underwhelmed with everything else. If you're set on purchasing it, I'd try to find it cheaper...someone is bound to sell at suggested retail or lower!

The beauty of putting your head in the clouds!
This is a spectacular and beautiful look at clouds. Very educational and totally fantastic as a coffee table book too. I am an artist, and use it for painting design and reference. Incredible. Nab one if you are able.

If You Love Clouds -- This Book is For You!
Ain't Nature Grand! Put down the electronic devices and go outside and look up! Day or night. This book sure gives a person some wonderful spectacles to behold -- so many I haven't seen in person (yet) -- and had never seen before. Loved it.

Clouds
I got several books on clouds to prepair a lesson on clouds sign posts in the sky. All books I received had some unique information on clouds and what their formations tell the pilot about their significence. The books recommended by the FAA have as complete a dissertation of the significance of clouds as the types of weather associated with them. Good information for everyone but most signifisant to the Pilots who fly the weather associated with those clouds.

Wonderful Gift for Cloud-Lovers and Non-Cloud-Lovers
A lot of beautiful pics! Spectacular! Some even scary! This book makes a wonderful gift to someone who has no interest in the sky or the clouds. It'll stimulate that person's interest in both art and science! And it's also a wonderful gift to someone who already has a strong interest in the sky and the clouds. A wonderful reference for some of the more strange and exotic cloud formations!

Extraordinary Clouds: Skies of the Unexpected from Bizarre to Beautiful
The book is worth buying for the amazing photography. The book format is rather small, which is a shame as these photos would look stunning on a bigger (let's say A4) format, rather than the size of a small or a medium postcard. Still, it's a highly informative book with great, unusual photography, and definitely well worth the price I paid for it! (£5.51)

Super little book for anyone remotely interested in clouds and cloud formations. A little pricey but very good quality; no regrets in making this purchase. Delivery and packaging first class, as usual with Amazon and its suppliers.
