I'm a big fan of the Metal Gear Solid series, with Snake Eater being my favorite. I flipped my $#1t when I realized Medicom had created a Big Boss figure that wouldn't cost me an outrageous $100+ dollars (Note: referring 12 inch figures that many MGS fans, including myself, covet so). Unfortunately, these 7 inch figures are poorly constructed (I own the MGS2 Solid Snake figure as well. Check out my review for that one. It's in the same vein as this one). For what Medicom charges for their figures, I'd expect them to be more durable and of higher quality. When I first received the package, I noticed the accessories were NOT secured. I was worried that the weapons somehow, SOMEWAY had hidden cracks in the plastic. They appeared intact. I gingerly removed the the contents, and placed his weapons in their respective places (although, I DID have trouble sliding the gun into his hand)...except for his CQC knife. The blade simply broke off from the hilt. I did not force it, I did not bend it. Cheap. Chinese-made. PLASTIC. Much like my experience with the Solid Snake figure, the accessories are fragile, and I'm going to have to repair his weapon with glue. Give me a break, Medicom! The figure also balances poorly, if it manages to hold its position at all. 99.9% of the time, he'll topple over. As I did with the Solid Snake figure, I had to fashion stands out of modeling clay to maintain his posture. However, even with the help of my makeshift stands, I must STILL lean him against another object. The product is advertised as being "nicely articulated". This couldn't be further from the truth. Only his arms can raise. That's it. I was hoping to have a little more articulation than this, such as arm and leg bending and movement, etc.The modelers did a pretty decent job with his uniform and equipment (you can even see the wire from the Codec receiver leading to his ear), although I wish they had him wearing Tiger Camo, rather than the gaudy looking sneaking suit he wore throughout MGS: Portable Ops, although I would have preferred NECA or McFarlane crafting these instead of Medicom (check out NECA's Kratos figure!)Another plus is the economical price of this figure. If you're a red-blooded, frugal MGS fan like myself, this is a biiiiiig plus. All in all, if you can by-pass the fact the figure DOES NOT FRIGGIN' BALANCE, or his weapons break too easily, buy this figure. I can't recommend the Solid Snake (MGS2) figure, though.

A Must Have For Any Collectors!
I Bought this Big Boss action figure for the whole purpose of a collectors item, I didn't buy it to take out of the packaging, so as far as it not being able to stand and all that, I can't say because as I said, I have it for collectors purposes, and if you're a collector of this series or video game series in general, it's definitely a must have, if you want a really cool figure, for a very small figure (haha money joke...not funny i know) but it has a very cool design, and seems very elaborate not only in design but in the weapons. It's a no brainer to get this for you or someone that is into the series, a very cool addition to any collection!

Metal Gear Solid Medicom 7 Inch Action Figure Snake [MGS3]
Overall, I was very happy with this item. I had read another review that stated it's impossible to stand this figure up on his own, that he will tip over. Well that was true (out of the box) it was hard for him to stand on his own, all I had to do is bend his right foot up a little bit and hold it in that position for about 5-10 seconds, and now he stands up just fine (on his own). There is a good feeling of sturdiness to the figure, and the detail is very nice. If there was one thing I didn't like it would be that you can't change his pose but oh well the one he comes in is pretty cool. Overall this is a great action figure and will make a great addition to any Metal Gear collection.
