Once in Golconda: The Great Crash of 1929 and its aftershocks

Interesting topic with more details than most people want. The author's right-wing bent also intervenes in his editorializing. None the less, it is interesting to see how corrupt things were - and wonder how much has been fixed. Book would have benefited from some editing. Very very detailed (& I like detailed - but this much belonged in an academic paper, not a general financial history.) BTW I got only about 2/3 of the way thru the book. Then skipped to the end.

It is interesting the details found in various reports from this time in our economic history. The details of the participants and how they got to be in positions of importance in these events and how they personally responded was most interesting.

To the point if you don't want to know the history of this country Then this book isn't for you . But if you have kidsit would be priceless for them to know what happened in this country.

Excellent. Although I have never bought a single share, this long sections of this book read like what is called a 'thriller': at one point unableto put it down as the fortunes a A R Ryan rose and fell. Recommended to every one who likes a good, definitely true story.

The book has aptly portrayed the prequel ans sequel to the 1929 Crash and is as valid today as it was when it was written.
