High-quality good safety device worth the money

To set the record straight, it’s 90 degrees I saw a lot of reviews saying that the attachment is not 90 degrees, even pictures. I wanted to offer my experience and photos. In the package there are two mounting brackets that fit the 90 degree supports perfectly. These brackets are currently not shown in the product photos in the listing so they must be new additions. They hold the vertical featherboard just slightly over 90 degrees to account for pressure. I can only assume others didn’t see the brackets in the packaging or they did not exist then. Video shows resew of 7.5" board. The featherboard attachment helps keep constant pressure on the board in two places. You can see it is very quick and easy to set up and remove. The device holds very strong, I can push on it and tip the table saw before moving the magnet. It sticks to the side of my table saw for storage when not in use. When positioned in a way that does not press the board up against the saw blade, this is very effective and safe.

This item is both robust and durable and works flawlessly with the 30mm Pro Table Saw Magnetic Featherboard. This comes with a variety of adapters that allow it to be used vertically (as shown) and horizontally. For horizontal usage, it can be mounted directly on top of the 8" Mag Featherboard or an inch, or so, above it using the included spacers to accommodate tall stock. Overall, I find this combination a basic necessity when making certain types of cuts and can be quickly set-up and positioned. As I've commented in my review of the base unit; I realize I didn't worry about safety nearly as much as I should have when I was younger. With this item added to my collection of traditional feather boards, I'm not only prepared to make better cuts but also feel much safer in the process.

The Magswitch line of accessories is very well made and useful. The vertical featherboard attachment is used in conjunction with the starter kit The starter kit puts pressure on the workpiece at the table level while the attachment applies pressure several inches above the table. Due to the magnetic hold downs the featherboard set-ups are delightful to use since they may be positioned anyplace on the table of the saw. Ideally I would have one for the table saw and one for the bandsaw. When cutting a 4 x 4 piece of cedar on the tilted table on my bandsaw the double featherboards of the Magswitch assembly held the 4 foot long piece of cedar tightly against the fence. I doubt that I could have done the cut without the Magswitch. A few characteristics of which you should be aware. Firstly, the assembly and breakdown of the equipment is time consuming. All those pieces in the photograph have to be put together (and taken apart). On my table saw I position the featherboard to the left of the blade while on the bandsaw it is the reverse. This means that the feathers are angled in the wrong direction in one or the other necessitating tearing the assembly apart or buying a second assembly.

I bought several Magswitch products and I'm extremely happy with all of them. They really hold tight and are so simple to use that it only takes seconds to drop them in place and put them to work. They have truly increased my personal safety and improved accuracy in my woodworking. I use them on my jointer and tablesaw. Other reviewers mentioned it's hard to assemble the attachment. I didn't have any problem at all. I added it to the Magswitch Starter Kit and just leave it attached. This vertical featherboard excels at keeping tall boards flat against the fence, yet it doesn't interfere with using it for boards lying flat on the table. I bought another Starter Kit and Vertical Featherboard Attachment set to use for keeping unruly boards flat on the table (either jointer or tablesaw) and it works especially well at keeping thin, slightly warped stock flat when cutting. Highly recommended.

Nice fether board work great

I was disappointed when I opened the package and the Magswitch Magnets and the universal base were not included. That IS NOT made clear in the description of the product. You have to read all the way down the page to find this out.

Collegandomi sul sito MAG Switch, non esiste la possibilità di collegarsi per capire il reale funzionamentodi questo accessorio che dovrebbe essere a protezione con l’utilizzo di vari attrezzi

I use this on my table saw to stabalise thin sheet material. It prevents it lifting and in conjunction with a fence mounted featherboard, vastly reduces the risk of kickback, as well as improving the cut accuracy. Just make sure you don't pinch the work.
