Everything you could possibly know about sweep picking and how to master the technique are all contained in this outstanding instruction manual. Chris Brooks is a master musician and innovative teacher. This is a perfect companion to Chris' other instruction manual: Neoclassical Speed Strategies for GuitarThis manual, like the other that Chris has created, is innovative and thorough. The book is all encompassing and unique in the approach, which makes it a must have for the guitarist that is well accomplished and for the beginner as-well. Chris leaves nothing to the imagination, except how you choose to utilize the information and techniques provided in your mastery of the teaching provided in this material. You can buy a hundred other books and videos on the subject and still won't get the teaching and insights provided in Chris' instruction manuals.

Great!!
This book is great. It covers everything you need to know about sweep picking, from how to hold your pick to get the maximum usage with the most economic movement, to many shapes and exercises that will actually be useful to not only practice and help you improve but also use in your playing! Chris Brooks can take the most complicated and advanced of subjects, break it down to the easiest thing possible and help you become a master! I recommend this book and everything else Chris has written and released!

A complete system. Brilliant, clear, makes practise fun.
I thought I could sweep pick but had hit a plateau. I’d reached the edge of where my previous approach could take me. Like a lot of people I have seen some instructional videos and had lessons over the years and they were all ok but not completely clear on putting all the pieces together in a logical and sensible (and fun) way. I’m so glad I bought this book. Instead of reinforcing the same bad habits, this book allowed me to break everything up into smaller pieces and establish proper systems for everything. It takes a logical, clear and extremely detailed look at the actual hand motions, pick direction and slant, muting techniques and string control. The exercises and etudes are fun and musical and develop a real sense of understanding and mastery. I wasn’t even aware of some of the flaws in my previous technique. I wasn’t aware I needed systems for changing direction for strings. I used to have to practise each new sweep picking lick a lot longer to internalise it. Now I immediately see which of the systems or approaches are the most efficient for me and I don’t need to reinvent the wheel when I encounter something slightly new or different. Chris is an unbelievable player and he holds nothing back. If you have ever wanted to be able to sweep pick flawlessly and you are prepared to put in some time then buying this book is an absolute no brainer. Thank you Chris!!

A regimented, effective approach to finally developing your sweep picking
I will probably never be a Shawn Lane level 6-string sweep picker, but with the help of this book, I'm much better than I was previously when it comes to 3-4 string patterns. This book is a great look into the physical mechanics of sweep picking and how to best apply and develop it in a musical manner. It starts simple and progresses into more complex examples while teaching you how to practice the given drills to be able to tackle the more complex examples. I also enjoyed the 90-day sweep picking practice program. I wish more guitar books provided a workout-style program.

Sweeping is easy - if you have this book!
Chris Brooks does a fantastic job of first teaching you the mechanics of sweep picking, and then chapter by chapter building your sweeping chops. There are tons and tons of exercises in this book that gradually build on your skillset, start with simple two string sweeps, then expanding to 3, 4 and more strings. The exercises are accompanied with chordal etudes that will help you use sweeping in your own music and build confidence and familiarity. The chords are mostly neo-classical in style, but I make some minor changes to play in a more rock and bluesy style, so thats totally upto you.If you are starting your sweep picking journey, this book is all you need! Highly recommend it.

Fantastic sweep resource
I purchased the Kindle version, and I've spent about an hour a day with it since then. The presentation of the information has been extremely effective at producing moments of insight about the shapes and mechanics that I wasn't finding with other texts and online resources. I found, for example, that I wasn't mixing shapes, or chunks of shapes, in lots of ways that seem obvious to me now. It simply hadn't occurred to me to approach it that before. In that sense this is definitely worth the ten dollar entry fee.

The best guitar book you’ll ever buy!
I’ve never been able to sweep pick . 4 pages in and I’m sweep picking !. Not only that but I’m understanding the mechanics behind what I’m doing . Chris’ instructions are clear and easy to follow and the accompanying audio files are easy to download and of high quality .I cannot recommend this book highly enough for any guitarist wishing to begin sweeping or even wanting to improve their technique. I will definitely be ordering Chris’ other book on Neo classical style , as these will be books you’ll just keep coming back to time and time again.

Really well written and builds concepts
I've never been a sweeper, butbi got this in book to help me make my arpeggios more fluid. I've found that following the book through and practicing the studies seems to have really improved my picking technique, but also helped me focus on my arpeggio playing.

The best book on sweep picking I've seen
The best book on sweep picking I've seen. If you've never looked at the technique, it's perfect to gain significant skill in the technique. If you're quite experienced, then you'll still learn a lot from it, and if you're a teacher, it'll give you some great ideas on how to show this to other. BUY NOW!

Start slow to play fast
This book is brilliant. It is a step-by-step guide to mastering sweep picking and it starts with the basics.I’m slowly working my way through this, only chapter 2! But I feel that I have already improved in my playing. The audio examples are great, but I only use it as a reference, as I’m trying to also read notes. I use a metronome to practise. As they say, to play fast, start really slow. I did not believe it at first, but now I am a convert!!

Loads of information. Really clear explanations, and well presented and organised notation, tab, and fingerboard diagrams. Everything is well focussed on clear objectives with plenty of guidance and suggestions as to how to build skills efficiently and effectively.
