Trudeau 5-Piece Knife Block Set, Red

maybe i got a bad set but man.. i was so excited to use these. right out of the box i noticed that the knife block had a small crack and when i was using the knife i noticed that some of the green paint (?) was uneven and even peeling. but the knife is pretty and cuts well.

I love these knives. They are great quality, super sharp, have excellent balance, look great and impress the menfolk when I choppy chop things with them. I'm not sure if rust will be an issue, since I always wash, dry and put them away after use. But these are big girl knives, you'd have to do the same.

All the black has come off of the blades. Now in its holder it just looks messy. The knives themselves are good - they sharpen nicely. But the paint comes off very easily and I'd like to hide them.

Nice little knife set. We needed a small set for our airstream RV and it is perfect. While camping at Little Sand Bay on Lake Superior a fisherman dropped off a nice brown trout. Using the utility knife I was able to fillet it very easily. Nice sharp knives. They look nice too.

Great knives, versatile set of 5 for cutting anything, sturdy and sharp. Knives and knife block are very stylish, and the knife block itself feels solid.

Knives do their job well, but stand gets hazy with grime, and I can't figure out an easy way to clean it.

Did not have any issues with shipping or receiving them damaged. Only thing I would change about them is the color. I would have made them a lot brighter in color. They are great, love the acrylic block it adds a different element to my kitchen.

So far so good. All the knives work really well and there haven't been any wobbly handles or blades, rust, or dullness. The only problem is that the grip coating has started to come off on one knife, and it's the bread knife which is least used. It's only barely noticeable but there's the worry of this happening to all the knives eventually and trying to cut with wet hands and no grip on the knife. Other than that, they work fine.
