Boar hair does a great job at sweeping - but would like to see the product plastic-free
I love my new broom! I had never tried a boar hair or otherwise natural fiber broom before - always the plastic bristles. After moving into our first house after almost a decade of apartment rentals it seemed like a good opportunity to get a new broom and I'm trying to switch to products that support zero-waste practices. I'm the weirdo that loves cleaning, especially sweeping, and now I can say I love it even more. It's so much easier to handle, and just works better at the job, than plastic bristle brooms. I highly recommend it for that purpose. One thing I didn't realize when I was ordering it, was that there are plastic pieces attached to the wooden broom head. I don't know much about brooms so I'm not sure what purpose they serve although I'm sure it makes sense. However, I was envisioning a product that, when disposed of (hopefully after a long while), would be able to totally degrade (with the natural bristles and wooden base). This broom comes so far toward this goal - being made of wood and boar hair - until the plastic pieces are added. Perhaps in the future the manufacturer could reconsider that part of the design and leave the plastic off or use a non-plastic renewable or more easily recycle-able material that does a similar job - like rubber or metal perhaps?

Happy broom in my home
Fine boar hair broom made in Italy. Good quality I am looking for. It's a fun to dance with.Love it, love it, love it. I will treasure this little helper. Box came tattered not a good sign, was worried if the broom was even in it. Yes, it was. *** Just like Pria says, I also was shocked what a cheap looking handle & in "Blue" color???? They sure clash. No match 4 the broom finishes at all. Big disappointment 4 me.I was trying immediately to replace it with my wooden handle. No such luck. Actually none of my handles fit. Threading on handles sold in US stores won't fit 4 the broom opening.Maybe Americanhouseware seller should sell separately also nice solid wooden handle to go with. It will looks more tastefully done and makes us picky people happy. Maybe not important for some because it`s just a broom.

The Boar-Hair Really Sweeps Well...
It is a real pleasure to use the Italian boar-hair broom in my home. While the broom is light in weight, it is quite rugged in construction. The boar-hair picks up ALL of the debris (dirt, dust, lint, and leaves) in and around my home. I use it for my tile floors, both inside in the bath rooms and outside in the entryway. And of course I use it on my interior hardwood floors. The broom is easy to clean; a gentle shake is all that it takes. I hang it on a nail in my broom closet, and the blonde boar-hair is always ready for clean sweeping action. When this boom has seen it final days (it may outlast me), I will certainly buy another one.For anyone who is wondering, your Italian boar-hair broom is an excellent product and a good investment. The service from your organization was top notch; I know, I purchase many items online.

Love the broom
Love the broom! Nice and soft for hardwood floors. Bought a second one as I gave the first one to my sister-in-law.Was tired of the poor quality brooms that were in the local stores. Spent a lot of dollars trying to find a good one.Picks up the dust, hair, and small pebbles from the floor. Doesn't flick the dirt all over the room like the hard synthetic brooms do. Pulls all the dirt into the dust pan, no more dirt line on the floor.Comments have been made on the handle. I plan to put some duck tape on the extended telescoping joint if it starts to slide around. I wouldn't let that keep you from buying the broom.

Does the job.
So the broom sheds a few strands, occasionally...works great. Picks up all of my fine dust on our wood floors. Have had a horse hair broom bought in Germany for 8 years, and it is also still in use. Going to see if this one last as long. For the price this is excellent. Don t forget to hang it up (do not store with bristles on floor).

Beautiful broom
I searched far and wide for a broom that was soft enough to sweep hardwood, but NOT made of plastic. I also remember that my grandmother had a boar hair broom that she brought with her when she emigrated from England to Canada in the 1950's (because it's "so hard to find a good broom"). That broom has since been passed on and is still in use today. I can only hope this broom does the same. At any rate, it's a pleasure to sweep with it. The broom picks up dust, dirt and heavier things too. Give it a shake outside and all of the dust falls out of the hairs. This broom is well worth the price. You won't need another!

The Joy of Sweeping
Well not really. It is called house work after all. However, there is a certain joy in using an efficient tool to get the job done with minimal effort. This Italian-made boar hair broom is fantastic at picking up fine dirt, dust bunnies and pet hair. Then a sweep into a dustpan and a shake outside, and it's as clean as new. Sometimes it's worth it to pay more for a quality product, especially one that you use everyday. I appreciate using the proper tool to get the job done. And who knows, maybe I'll feel bursts of joy as I sweep.

Great broom. Cheap plastic handle.
The broom arrived quickly, in perfect condition. Unfortunately, it came with a blue plastic threaded handle, which is the reason for the missing star in this review. After searching for days for a broom that would withstand the test of time, be all natural and ecologically responsible, I expected this italian boar hair broom to come with a wood handle. The broom is super soft, well made and I do not hesitate to recommend it. But for the price, I would have liked the wood handle. Now I have to go search for one of those as well.
