When I ordered these, I purchased 2 packages (4 socks). I rinsed them as suggested and my skimmer didn't got that crazy, it foamed a bit for a few seconds then returned to normal. On the third day it was time to remove and change the sock, by this time I had to rinse it and let it dry out. However that is not how it played out. I had to invert them, because that is what I had read in several forums, before I set them out to dry. well that was a huge mistake because I had made a hole in the bottom seem of the sock, a tear. So I called and tried to see why they were so fragile when they are supposed to be long term. They simply apologized for not being clearer in the instructions, they don't require inverting, which makes cleaning them a breeze - and they sent me a brand new order. Replacing 4 socks, not just the 2 that tore, but the entire order.The customer service responded immediately and was incredibly nice about the entire situation, which was entirely my fault because of my stupidity and ignorance. Nonetheless they replaced them for free and have even followed up to see if I have had any more trouble with their product. Excellent customer service, excellent product!

Product photo used is NOT what I received.If you look at the photo used, starting from the top, the plastic lip is folded downwards, the seams are all sown as well. What I received was a filter sock with the plastic lip folded UPWARDS and all seams just heat pressed. The biggest issue I have is that the plastic lip at the top is folded upwards. Doesn't work with the sump I have (Aqueon proflex) which first enters a bubble trap cylinder then overflows out and into 2 filter socks. With the lip folded upwards, it doesn't overflow into the socks, instead most of the water escapes through the sock holders as the upward folding lip BLOCKS the water trying to get inside the sock.Buyers beware, i'm not sure if others received the filter sock as pictured, but I got something completely not as pictured.

I order this item about every six weeks and am never let down by the delivery time (usually sooner than expected), packaging, or product quality. Each filter lasts roughly two weeks in my 160g tank (sump included) and although it states they can be rinsed and reused, I prefer not to exercise this practice. Feel the fibers would trap some of the particulates, I try so hard to keep out of my tank, during the rinsing process. Even if it is in turn rinsed with DI water. Just my preference.

weird shape of the bag portion makes them kind of hard to get in and out of sock holders. aqueon brand is way nicer, softer, easier to maneuver, but also way more expensive.

I've been using these socks for a little over a month and they've done a great job of helping keep the tank clean and the over all construction is very durable with no signs of wear. I use one sock a day so every day I'm taking one out and cleaning it by turning it inside out, rinsing it under running water, allowing it to soak until the next day and rinsing it again before allowing to dry. I'm pleased that with the constant flipping of the sock inside out that the seams are holding.

The bottom seam coming apart after just a few washes. The seam is melted not stitched. The sock in the picture is not what your getting.

I've had the socks for over six months, and they hold up good to high pressure hose wash and then washing machine wash! I love the quality and size of these socks. With the shorter socks you can flip them inside out to wash the inside unlike the long socks. Highly recommended.

They are great socks. What more can you want for the price. It just does its job. There is not wifi or phone app like everything else in the hobby but for its purpose it'sgood enough.
