Xenocam IEEE 802.3af Micro USB Active PoE Splitter Power Over Ethernet 48V to 5V 2.4A for Tablets, Dropcam or Raspberry Pi (48V to 5V 2.4A)

I used this to convert an HIKVision ip camera to support poe. Luckily, without the case on, this unit was small enough for me to solder it to the wires inside my camera, so it stays just as waterproof as from the factory and the poe extractor is completely hidden.Note that you only need 4 wires connected to the input side (pins 1, 2, 3, and 6), and they are shorted in pairs (1 and 2, 3, and 6). So if you want to embed this inside some device, it will work fine even if you don't have all the unused cat5/6 wires coming into your device to connect to the input of this unit.

This saved my PoE Camera, I purchased this for a camera that was not PoE and returned that camera for another reason (though it did power that one before I returned it). I put this on a camera that had died and it lives again (the PoE circuit inside must have died). I had another one that was dropping off the switch every few seconds, this saved that one too. Time to purchase more.

This works perfect it allows you to take the power from your POE line and split the power off to the camera and another device as in my case a powered mic that need the 12.1 volts .5amps you will need to put it in a weather prof box if putting outside as I did for my live trail cam.

I was looking for a high power 12V POE device. There were no ratings or comments on Amazon but I took a gamble based on power and price. I am currently using it on an 18W Automation Direct display panel and it is performing as expected.

bought several, two died with 3-4 weeks, +12v is still ok, but the network connection is dead

Excellent product that I have been looking for a long time. A quality power supply in a small package. Great for providing power to a device such as a security camera or WiFi access point that doesn't originally accept power from a PoE switch. You can position your devices remotely without running separate power lines.

First unit received. It provided power, but ethernet was insufficient to achieve a connection. Tried multiple ethernet cables all with the same result.
