Great product!
Thick, rich, and lanolin! Golden in colour, thick enough that it stays where you put it, and it has a slight scent. I ordered this to help with chapped, flakey skin issues and also as a base for making my own essential oil salves. Works perfect every time for my needs. I usually put it on my face at night before bed and wake up with my skin feeling soft and not flaking. I've also used it as a base for my essential oil beard salve recipe and it has certainly made my beard nice and soft and helps keep my beard from acting like a porcupine and sticking out everywhere.I also decided to use this to treat my 16 year old custom made leather jacket since I have not been able to find mink oil around here. The leather treatments on the market I've seen lately smell too much like petroleum, which I don't like. So, I grabbed up my Now Lanolin and started hand-rubbing it onto the jacket using a small plastic spatula to get it out so that I did not contaminate the whole jar. That took about 30 minutes or longer because I rubbed it in every fold and crease of the leather. Afterwards my hands were nice and supple too. I hung the jacket up in a warm room where nothing else could touch it and let it soak in for a few days. That's been a few weeks ago now and my jacket feels supple and flexible. It has a luster about it and looks almost new again. The lanolin does leave a slightly tacky or waxy feel to the leather, but that acts as a great waterproofing barrier, so I don't mind.I've used it also on a custom made leather bound book I have that was looking a bit drier than it should. It has revived the leather on it making it look as it did when I got it.I've recommended this to friends/family and will buy more when I need it.

The only thing that actually HEALS my skin
I've known lanolin as a healing salve. I've gotten dried-up knuckles and wrists from my work with hand-washing and heavy duty cleaners. Mixing lanolin with my lotion not only moisturized my hands, but healed the damage! Here's some facts: Lanolin is an ingredient in saddle soap. This is used to clean, soften and condition leather to help make it water resistant. Without proper maintenance, leather will become brittle and crack. So if this stuff can keep a dead cow supple, imagine what if can do for your living hide! And it's not a far-fetched, or even new idea. Cowboys used it for their hands to help against cracking and splitting from a hard day's work. Also, I don't care what people might say, lanolin doesn't expire! Keep it in a tight-fitting jar, in a cool, dry place. That stuff lasts forever. The first time I used it was the half jar my Dad gave me. He had it stuck away because he used to use it on leather gun holsters. "I haven't touched this particular jar in 15 years," he told me. I opened it to see dried a little on top, just a couple cracks on it. I touched it, and the heat from my fingers soften it into the gooeyness below. The jar was still perfectly good!I bought these two jars of lanolin because it'd set me up for life. All I need is enough to coat my fingertip to mix with a spot of lotion, and that's enough to moisturize my hands. The only reason I mix it is that it makes spreading easier. Lanolin is thick and sticky on it's own. By itself I'll work wondrously if one doesn't mind taking the time to massage it into the skin with the heat from their hands.Wonderful stuff, this is! I can't believe I ever lived without it!

Great hand cream
I haven't found anything that works as well for healing and protecting chapped and cracked hands and feet at any price. As many reviewers have mentioned the lanolin does have a bit of a gamey scent. I have recommended it to several family members who all agree that it works very well but won't use it because of the scent. Since lanolin is extracted from sheep wool the closest thing I can describe the smell to is a damp sweater. I am a veterinarian and like the scent as it reminds me of my time working in the outdoors on farms and ranches. That said it's understandable that many people may not share this same sentiment, like my family members for instance. In short, it works very well, but does have a scent that may be disliked by some people.

This stuff is amazing!!!
This stuff is amazing and is currently being used on all body parts that needs a good layer of protection, and or moisturizing, no or littler scent. It does need to warm up a bit in hands before spreading. Its worth the money and I will buy it again!

Excellent moisturizer, stays put all day
I use this as a moisturizer for my eczema and in my experience it works slightly better for that than paraffin (petroleum jelly) based products. That should be hardly surprising since this stuff was secreted by the sebaceous glands of sheep for the precise purpose of regulating the humidity of their skin and fur, whereas petroleum jelly is just a petroleum by-product that happens to be a fairly decent occlusive moisturizer. The main reason, as far as I understand, why doctors usually recommend paraffin-based moisturizers, is because some people are allergic to lanolin. That's probably solid reasoning for one-off treatment, but if you have a skin issue that requires using moisturizers for an extended period of time, I think it's worth just trying this out. Chances are that you are not allergic to lanolin, and if it works better for you, it would be silly not to use it just because somebody else might be allergic to it. When there's several different options, none of them are dangerous, and the results are easy to evaluate, experimentation tends to be a good idea. This is very hard solid lanolin, not the more liquid stuff usually sold in bottles. It's roughly the consistency of furniture paste wax or old-fashioned hair pomade. That's why it comes in jars. Personally, I prefer this stuff, because the liquid stuff is very sticky and will end up sticking to the outside of the bottle and make a big mess.

Good product, sometimes has a small solvant smell
Hard to find pure lanoline and more than 40g. This one is good at 198 g. it has a little solvant smell compare to product 4x more extensive. Really like it to protect skin face from cold wind.

Lanolin is the best baby and toddler product
The best hands down. I don't understand why there are any baby rash products out there (for nappy rash). After my daughter had a rash the first time, I started putting lanolin to protect her skin, and she never gets them anymore.I was always a lanolin user for as long as I can remember! (10+ years). Natural and it works.I have one in every room :), my wallet, and the car.
