Show - A Night in the Life of Matchbox Twenty (Clean Version)

I watched this concert twice in a row. Fabulous and most talented band. Enjoyed every minute of this show. I can’t get enough of this band.

When I first heard that this DVD was coming out, I wanted to add it to my collection. I consider myself a little more than a casual Matchbox Twenty fan, but I've never seen a live concert in person, and this DVD almost compensates. The sound is incredible, I rarely enjoy "live" concert sounds, but they really did a fantastic job at making the sound crisp and clear, no matter what sound system you have, it is great! The video "picture" is great too!The second disc is kind of neat, you have all the lyrics from the concert displayed in a nifty manner. You can change the camera angles from 6 different views on, "Bright Lights" and "soul", which is kind of neat, you can focus on each member of the band, and watch them in action, instead of watching "just" Rob Thomas, not that, that is bad ::winks:: Oh and the Photo Gallery, which was nothing to write home about, they could of done without that section.The Documentary was alright, I would of liked them to focus more on each member of the band, and maybe do a biographical kind of thing..they mostly showed and explained how they get ready for a venue, how they prepare, and they showed their tour busses. All in all, I think the DVD is worth your while. It's almost like a "Greatest Hits" package with a ZING! Enjoy!

I have never been to a MB20 concert - not because I don't want to, but because I have only recently (this year) "discovered" what a talented band Matchbox Twenty are. If they tour in Oz in the future, hey I'm there!This DVD really highlights several things for me (as a newbie of this band):- Rob Thomas is a truly soulful, emotional singer with an astounding vocal depth who is able to rock the stadium with his strong, gritty voice, but also to bring tenderness to the simply brilliant "If you're gone" track with Kyle on the guitar- Rob Thomas is a truly remarkable songwriter who is able to convey simple but meaningful themes of every day life in songs through melodies and words that just work!- Kyle Cook's guitar skills are up there. You can see he really knows what he's doing, and he sounds awesome.- Paul Doucette is a real creative powerhouse, and his vision for the lighting for the concert really made a difference to the vibe and enjoyment of the show for all.- Adam Gaynor and Brian Yale were the other band members, but apart from playing their respective instruments during the concert, I could'nt tell what other contributions they made.Overall, I really enjoyed this DVD. The music from their CDs really came alive with this performance for me. Rob clearly can sing live, not like some artists who are less than impressive outside of a controlled recording studio.Kudos to Matchbox Twenty. Long live Matchbox Twenty.

I have been a fan of Matchbox Twenty for a while now, and when I heard they were making a concert video I was excited. However, concert videos can go either way (good or bad) so I was also ready for the worst.Thankfully though, my doubts were ruled out as minute by minute of the film rolled on. The visuals are spectacular, with editing that fits the paces of the song really well. Personally, I didn't see a problem with the sound, but maybe the volume was up a bit too much.The video was successful in placing me front and center (and closer) to a great Matchbox Twenty concert. I almost got to go to the concert on the film (Atlanta), so having missed it I am extremely glad that the director did such a fine a job of catching the feel of one of their live concerts.I'd already decided this worthy of a five-star rating, but on top of the show itself I also enjoyed the documentary, or behind the scenes of the show (which is where most of the explicitness is.) This is located on Disc 2.In summary, if you're a fan then it's a must like it was for me; however, it is still one of the best representations that people will get of Matchbox Twenty so I'd say it's just a good buy for the music lover/concert watcher in general.

This is just great stuff from start to finish i cant understand peoples problem with the sound i think it captures the live feeling extremely well, the set is spot on allthough no cover song?? Matchbox twenty did some amazing covers on this tour one other thing that was edited out of this was at the end of all i need the beatles "she loves you yeah yeah yeah" lyric was removed you can see kyle and adam go to sing it and then we switch to another shot, probably so they dont have to pay royalties ha! but if nothing else if your a fan buy it just to hear soul, and kyle doing bright lights guitar solo on top of robs piano is cool too. An all around amazing live band great stuff. The second disk with the documentry is insightfull funny and surprising, and its a good length giving you lots of behind the scenes stuff, and its all very well packaged a great all round product go get it!!!

I'll keep this review very short. Visually, the quality is great. The choice of songs is also great. The performance is great and entertaining.My main grime/complaint about this is that the person(s) at the mixing board for this DVD had some strange desire to play with the volume of the audience. Throughout EACH song, there is this artifial raising and lowering of the volume of the audience as though certain parts of the song unleash a level of hystery from those attending. If you notice it, and have trouble tuning it out, it can be very annoying. It just sounds so bogus and so fake. I just visualize a guy at the mixer, sitting there playing with the volumes.

Dolue to not being able to going to concerts, this is a great DVD to watch.

Do NOT listen to the negative reviews about sound quality. I watched the whole dvd and documentary and there are no issues to complain about. It's a wonderful concert. You will not be disappointed. I am very happy with my purchase! ENJOY!
