Joshua Tree 10 Seeds - Yucca brevifolia - Cactus

I purchased ten Joshua Tree seeds and received them on June 29. I planted them the next day using a cactus planter mix. Some seeds were planted in a 5", clear plastic cup so I could observe the time of germination. Roots were visible within 3 - 4 days. Joshua Trees produce a fibrous root system and need a larger pot to accommodate root growth. The green sprout was visible on June 9. I transplanted the sprouts June 10 and noted that the roots were already five + inches long. Of the eight seeds planted, five have already sprouted!

I'm not much of a grower, I always got little sprouts coming up but i could never get them to get bigger, the seeds were fine but i do not have a GREEN THUMB....

Bought these, they did hatch, but then died. I placed them in a moist coffee filter and slipped it inside a zip lock bag. The roots began to grow in my office, but I think I over exposed them to the sun. Not the sellers fault, but my own. These things are super hard to grow anyway. But it would be awesome if you could plant one exactly where you want it and watch it grow b/c many expensive transplants die. I own 8 different species of yucca and this one is the slowest growing one, but when they mature they bring a lot of wildlife into the yard. If I was a millionaire I would buy a fully grown one and have it planted in my yard. I checked the price, it's about $14,000. :(

Only got 9 seeds, not ten....not a huge deal, but when you do the math they stole 22 cents from me. When they don't do any inventory count before they ship out products it make you wonder what else they're taking short cuts on. Out of the 9 I have 5 spouts, which is the only reason I'll give them 2 stars. One for shipping on time and 1 for germination percentage.

None of the seeds sprouted. Had ordered Yucca seeds as well. Weird that they both look exactly alike. So, either I was taken, or both plants produce the same exact looking seeds. DON'T waste your money.

I bought 2 packets. After some online research I saw suggestions to freeze the seeds for a few weeks before planting. I did that with one packet, and just left the other in a dark place. After being planted, both packets sprouted at the same time and I have happy little 6 inch tall leaves.

I'm super happy that 5 of them grew! I honestly wasn't sure if any would grow but had to try. They germinated in around 2 weeks.

I have been growing weird plants with a co-worker, as a little office side-project. We were only able to get two of the seeds to germinate. This may have been our fault, as there isn't much literature available on proper conditions for j trees, but keep that in mind before you buy.
