Great Training Manual Long Over-Due.
This is the only complete training book for Adobe CS6 I have found to date. I have been searching for months, and Amazon was kind enough to email me. It is better than buying all the yet to be published CS6 books for all the programs in the Creative Suite 6. I have all the Adobe CS5 books already. This book will update you on all the new features for CS6 Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Etc. A complete training package with DVD.

Good for beginners or anyone extending their skills
I have worked with Adobe's software since PhotoShop 7 came out and the first Creative Suite was created. It has been 6 years since I have used the Creative Suite and I wanted to explore some of the new stuff in CS6.The book is good for anyone just getting into graphic design or if you did a little bit of graphics works and maybe you want to expand your knowledge for other jobs, i.e. web design or maybe some phone apps. this book is great for introductory, because you get a taste of all the applications in the Web premium bundle. This book will not teach you in-depth design and round-tripping. it will help you get familiar with the panels and the shortcuts when working through projects at home or work. I did get some insight to the new web package from this book and also the new protocols under the hood in CS6 so this book was good at informing me and being aware of new changes.I would reccommend this book to anyone looking to work in the design field.

Good overview
The book gives a super fast overview of a number of tools within CS6 and a lot of it is but giving you "do this" without explaining all available options and why do that as opposed to smith else. Fireworks got only 1 chapter - I don't think you can learn much from that. But you can learn the basics on the tools that have 3 or more chapter coverage. You won't become an expert on any of them by using this book but that was not the intent.

Must have reference book for novice / newbies
As a college instructor teaching web design I am always looking for resources for more advanced students.Usually students are learning one application at a time, but sometimes you need to use another app from the suite. This gives the student a jumping off point to other apps without having to get a whole new book - remember it's just the most rudimentary glimpse but it will prevent you from getting stuck, so you can keep going...

great book for a heads first dive into CS6 software
When I purchased this book, I just had Adobe CS6 master suite for a month and had no experience and no idea on how to use any of the tools available. Thanks to this book, I am now functional in at least Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Indesign, and Fireworks. I would say Flash but there is so much more to Flash and this book doesnt even scratch the surface of Flash.

Great designing and illustration software!
Great designing / illustration software. I've been using Adobe Creative Suite since it first came out. Every version gets better and better. Love that there are so many tutorials online so you don't have to invest big $'s in learning the software.

Acrobat is absent officially now in this book
Amazon's description states the book includes instructions on Acrobat. Here is the direct quotation: 'You'll find instruction for the complete suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, Adobe Bridge, and Device Central.'I've just received the book. Where is Acrobat? What page? The very word 'Acrobat' is absent in content, and even in the index. Acrobat was important to me, because InDesign is my main interest, not to mention Acrobat is an integral part of Creative Suite 6. I feel I'm deceived. Let me stress it again: Acrobat was not mentioned in the book even once, even as as a single word somewhere on page 555. No! Never! And PDF is mentioned only once, at the very beginning of the book. I guess I should spend another $30? And to make you absolutely certain how I feel, I will repeat the Amazon description: 'You'll find instruction for the complete suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, Adobe Bridge, and Device Central.'(added later) Amazon states the book has 896 pages. In the book I've received, there are only 860. Where are the rest 36?(added later) the more I think about it the more I feel Amazon mailed by mistake a wrong edition to me. For example, the ISBN-10 number is different. I already ordered a replacement. If the correct book has Acrobat, I will replace, of course, the whole review and the amount of stars.(added later) I've received replacement. This is a part of my chat with Amazon rep:"Do you see the Amazon description says it includes Acrobat?""Yes.""Will the replacement book include Acrobat?""Yes."The replaced book turned out to be an identical copy of the original shipment, without Acrobat! The horror story continues. Wait for updates.(added later): Amazon investigated my complaint, and they changed the description. They took away Acrobat and Device Control. Fair enough, yet now the description looks this way: 'You'll find instruction for the complete suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, and Adobe Bridge.' A question for a third grader: what is still not accurate in this description? And the answer is....of course! 'the complete suite!' As if people, responsible for the description, cannot stop distorting reality. Without mentioning Acrobat even once, this 860 pages book cannot be described as 'complete.' For two simple reasons: Acrobat, unless you live in 1984, is an organic part if CS6. Second: it is impossible to imagine, that you work with InDesign, for example, and you are not interested in a deep knowledge of Acrobat. What is the next step for me in this idiotic journey? I started to work with the book (as I mentioned before, I mailed the first book back, but I decided to keep the replacement. Here are the reasons:1) Amazon gave my $10 coupon for my troubles, and it means, when I buy a separate instructions on Acrobat, it will cost me less.2) Even without Acrobat, this book is reasonably priced, I already started to work on Indesign on my Mac, and it doesn't look very bad so far. The instructions are not very talented, but DVD helps to understand. So I'm upgrading to two stars. When I finish InDesign section, I will come back with updates.

Just what I needed
This book is just what I needed, it gives a good overview of the main Creative Suite 6 with lots of step by step guides to each subject.

Good info
Very good as an intro to all the program's as a general reading but not for a serious understanding of all of them
