Yorkshire tea has always been my go to brand and like many other popular products, there is either a shortage or the price goes up because of supply and demand. I was pleasantly surprised to see a recent price reduction on Amazon for the nation's favourite tea. This is now the third time I've purchased the 600 pack of tea bags as oddly enough it works out better value for money than the larger 1040 pack. I always have Yorkshire tea bags saved in my wishlist so I can see when the price drops The bags make for a lovely cuppa and unlike other brands catering packs, these are the usual full strength bags, where other companies use "one cup" (weak) tea bags. These bags produce a nice coloured tea with a good strong flavoursome taste. This large 600 count bag represents good value for money at the current price of £14.59, which works out at 2½p each, but the price does fluctuate. If I'm feeling particularly frugal or my stocks are running low I find adding 2 tea bags to my 3 cup teapot I can still have an acceptable cuppa.

Good value and all the tea bags are perfect with none split or torn, we love Yorkshire tea and these are our favourite.

Why? Because it makes a proper difference. How to Make The Perfect Cup Of Tea 1) Run the tap a little so the water’s nicely aerated, and only boil it once to keep the oxygen level up. Oxygen in water helps flavour! 2) Pop a tea bag into your mug, pour over the hot water and stir briefly. 3)Tea needs time to unlock all its flavour, so give it 4-5 minutes to do its thing. 4) Before removing the tea bag, gently squidge it against the side of the mug. Just the once, mind – if you really mash it, it'll taste bitter. 5) You may like a splash of semi-skimmed or whole milk, but your brew is unique to you – so add milk, sugar, honey, lemon or nothing at all. Most importantly, enjoy! 6) So when should you add the milk? It’s an issue that divides tea drinkers into two camps: those who pour the milk into their mug first (Miffys) and those who pour their tea in before the milk (Tiffys). Like the Montagues and the Capulets, these warring factions may never see eye to eye – but the truth is that this great debate can be solved in less time than it takes to dunk a digestive. It’s all a question of heat. Tea brews best in very hot water, but adding milk cools things down. So if you’re brewing tea directly in a mug, it’s better to add the milk last, after it’s brewed. And if you’re brewing in a teapot, the order doesn’t matter at all – it’s just a question of personal preference! About half of UK Yorkshire Teabags are now plant-based. That’s all the boxes in sizes 40, 160 and 240, and it applies to normal Yorkshire Tea as well as Yorkshire Gold, Yorkshire Tea Decaf and Yorkshire Tea for Hard Water. Boxes of 210 are close behind and by the summer their boxes of 80 tea bags should all be plant-based too. Tea bags aren’t the only thing that’s changing. All their products are now carbon-neutral, and what they want next is for all their packaging to be "circular" – which means made from renewable, plant-based or recycled materials, and reusable, recyclable or compostable after use. Yorkshire Tea is replacing the oil-based plastic that seals their tea bags with a plant-based plastic called polylactic acid, or PLA. PLA is a newer form of plastic, made from plants (like cornstarch) instead of fossil fuels, which can be industrially composted by local councils. It’s the material that most of the UK tea industry is switching to or has already switched to. It’s better for the environment than oil-based plastic – as long as it goes in the right bin.
