Only used once since purchased, but I like them. I use these to help secure an 83 lb fishing kayak to a car roof mounting system.The catch part appears to be very strong & durable. The strap/loop portion appears to be strong material with good threading. A tad bit longer than my previous tow straps, which works for me. Overall much better quality strap.

These were an add on item for when I purchased kayak racks and they are great. The strap is excellent quality and heavy duty and the rubber handle is good quality. The design is great and so helpful for attaching the end lines of kayaks, canoe, etc...it allows you to not have to stretch your rope or straps all the way under your bumper and keeps the strap or rope off of and from hitting your vehicle. It stops the potential damage that can occur when a strap or rope continuously hits your car or a ratchet comes lose and dents your car. The rubber part goes inside your engine compartment or trunk and then you shut hood or hatch, trunk. It keeps it in place. The fabric loop on the other end is where you attach your other straps or rope and it keeps it up and off your vehicle.Highly recommend to anyone wanting to better secure their kayaks or canoe and to prevent damage to their vehicle

Easy to set up bow and Stern lines on Soul roof rack.

I was having difficulty finding good tie off points for my roof rack mounted kayak on my Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. This product is very flexible in providing tie off points and can be used under the hood, tailgate, trunk, doors, or any other place that latches shut. The flat nylon webbing that extends out of the hood, tailgate, etc., is strong, durable and provides a secure tie off point, "and" is gentle on your vehicle. You can even use multiple ones on the hood, e.g. one on front and one on each side so you can secure the nose of the kayak to prevent side sway during high speed Interstate driving. A great find after years of hauling kayaks.

I have a fiberglass canoe that weighs over 100lbs, these work well and have lasted even when I accidently left them in the hood of my car flapping in the wind. No threads pulled

I didn’t know about using these. I realized my van didn’t have any secure place to attach bow and stern lines. I thought these would be worth a try. The price was good and I questioned if they would be durable enough. My van has a short hood so worried they would slip out. They were perfect. First use carried recreational kayaks over 300 miles in the wind! These thing held tight. They didn’t slip at all. Very easy to use! Glad I gave them a chance. Solved the serious problem of my plastic van having no good place to attach lines.

While most all vehicles have a location at the front for tying off a small boat, these items work great if knot tying is not your specialty.
