A fun little project
I had a lot of fun with my 7 year old son when building this.A few pro's and cons:* Fun, and easy to build* Feels sturdy* Expensive considering the hardware inside* Response time isn't the best. Navigation feels similar to that of a cheap android tablet in terms of response time, and clunkyness* Occasionally apps don't let you back out to the homescreen, and/or don't have an X in the upper right corner. This happens on Hack Minecraft when you back out to the main menu on Minecraft. Minecraft is Minecraft Pi Edition, and is version 0.1.1, which means if your kid is expecting to be able to summon dragons, or play on servers - that ain't going to happen.* The introduction to very simplified coding is fantasticI do recommend it overall, but just be aware, you're not getting a high quality tablet.

Wasy to build with a little help from an adult
Bought for my son for xmas, he loves it especially the minecraft hacks.Built with his dad mainly just for a little bit of help, they built it in about half an hour, he loves it and will be doing coding he says very soon.Arrived in time although i have prime it arrived when said especially with it being xmas there was no delay.Would i recommend yes i would, he enjoys it, although im not allowed any where near it (mums dont know how to do computers apparently š, sure he thinks i use parchment and quill)So overall very good for the little Ive personally seen of it.

Basic tablet features missing which makes it an average product.
Kano has interesting apps which makes it an interesting purchase. However note that you cannot control the brightness of the screen and the default value is a little too bright for my son, which is quite annoying!. The screen touch is a little clunky and response time is similar to the previous gen of ipads. Overall I think it needs to be a better hardware solution as well to warrant this cost price

Bricked after 5 months.
Lo and behold, Kano have announced they will no longer support this kit, not that there was much support for it in the first place. Kano really does struggle with building a platform of any value, and I wouldn't even bother buying the Windows PC kit. The potential for learning by putting it together (the small but of value I got from this kit) is gone, and the software will no doubt be poor.I bought my kids Chrome books and can now use this excellent resource for kids learning called the Internet.Previous review: A real shame it doesn't seem to be kept up to date with software and versions of raspberry pi. Would love to have been able to put a pi4 in there and make it more a fully fledge terminal as the kids grow.

Does what it says on the tin, just very poorly.
Seriously disappointed with this product.1) building was great fun. Very clear instructions.2) Operating system very slow and touch screen is very unresponsive.3) tablet has to be completely turned off to flip screen.4) limited usage for the tablet. Many many more poor elements to what promised to be a great gift.My daughter has lost interest in the slow operating system, bluetooth not connecting properly for additional kits (Harry Potter Wand, Frozen sensor). The most disappointing christmas present ever.

Kids enjoyed it, but essentially just a tablet
an expensive tablet for what it is, there are better coding methods out there

Most impressive unboxing experience
I was amazed by its unboxing experience, which surpassed what Apple products used to have. My 7 years old boy could build the kit by himself. The touch screen is crisp and has high resolution, much better than the official Raspberry Pi Touch screen which is as small as VGA.
