Newfie Poo consistently likeds to pick up that toy and chew on it.
He loves all his toys so he is pretty much equal opportunity toy hoarder. So there is not a toy he doesn't like (oh yeah he does no like the stuffed toy snake!). I just need to get a bigger sock monkey. My wife ordered this one.

Cute Sock Monkey
I gave this 5 stars because it is a cute toy and would be good for a dog who doesn't chew on toys and tear them up. My 11-pound dog received this toy today and loves it. Unfortunately, he tore it within 30 minutes. It would be better if it had more than one squeaker because my dog loves squeakers. But it has many parts with which he can pick it up and carry it around. The manufacturer says this toy is for "gentle chewers". So noted. Don't buy this for your dog if he chews and tears up toys like mine does. Not sorry I bought it, though. Was cheap enough to give it a try. Day 2 Update: sad news. Our dog tore up the sock monkey & uncovered the squeaker. Had to take it away from him. He sat for 15 minutes wanting it back, but he can't have it back. Some of the stuffing is also missing. My bad. Shouldn't have ordered it since he tears up toys. He really liked it, though.

Very cute!
My dog had worn hers out; so, I was happy to find this one. She is hard on her toys; but, it lasted several months.

Great product, not great for big chewers
This product comes exactly as advertised, and is great for people who don't own lunatic dogs who disassemble every toy purchased for them with surgical precision. Within 15 minutes the stuffing was on the floor and the monkey had squeaked his last sqeak. Great toy if your pup is a puppy but if your dog takes pleasure in destroying toys like a villain from the movie Hostel, spend the money on something sturdier.

A brutal death, for Mr. Monkey
Mr. Monkey came to us as a result of a sale, it seemed like a good idea at the time. However, upon arriving to his new home, the resident Labrador, Longshot, took over the job of welcoming Mr. Monkey into the residence. To say it did not go well for Mr. Monkey would be an epic understatement. Within five minutes, Longshot had reduced Mr. Monkey to a gruesome pile of innards and shards of sock monkey skin. Poor Mr. Monkey never stood a chance, and I will live with the guilt of allowing this terrible death until the end of my days. I recommend The poor deceased Mr. Monkey’s brothers and sisters go to homes with small, gentle dogs who will love and enjoy their delicate and poorly made little pal rather than the orgy of death our Mr. Monkey endured. I suppose at least it was quick. He did not linger long.

Not for an aggressive chewer
My dog loved this to pieces in a short period of time. However, she's a Cane Corso. And not much holds up to her playing. I had hoped the soft exterior would feel good in her mouth. It must have because she tore it to pieces and it had to be removed from her to prevent her from eating it. It seemed like it was well made. For a less aggressive player this might be fine but beware in case of swallowing of body parts. I won't be buying this again for this dog.

Pup Certified!
My pup loved this thing from the second I got him out of the box. He would normally have the stuffing out of him by now, but I think he likes it and will keep him around for a while.

Trash
I bought this for my 4 lb. yorkie for Xmas 2010. First thing I noticed is that its' arms were kinda high for a monkey, but Pook (my yorkie) wouldnt mind...Within 5 minutes, one of the arms fell off. Being that it was just attached with a few strands of thread, and made separate from the monkey, I thought,ok,I'll lay that to the side, let her play and then sew it back on later. In less than 2 minutes, she had a hole in its stomach and the stuffing was coming out. :\ I decided right then to throw this monkey back in the box and contact Amazon for a refund. If a 4 lb. yorkie can destroy this in less than 10 minutes,it shouldnt be considered a pet toy. What really stinks is I had to take her toy away after allowing her to play with it. Talk about disapointment!
