Better than I thought! Excellent for new realtors.
I will start by saying, I just never write reviews. I am writing this review because I feel so strongly about this book and I am just a few chapter in. I just started my real estate career and I’m ready to hit the ground running. I read the reviews for this book and bought it because I needed some guidance. I’m so glad I did because this is the best information one can start a career with. I feel like I know things I would never have known if it weren’t for Dirk Zellers guidance and wisdom. It makes you push hard and feel knowledgeable. I can go to my team with what I need to learn and know with confidence. I’m so grateful and looking forward to being successful in real estate.

Solid Advice for New Agents
This book offers a solid, step-by-step plan to get a new agent off on the right footing in their new career. With so many educational demands and the lure of social media marketing, it can be easy to “take your eye off the ball”. Dirk Zeller helps keep the focus on the prize while acknowledging the place for all the bells and whistles. Highly recommended for my fellow new agents.

This book was purchased as a gift.
I ordered it and "Making it in Real Estate" for my grandson who became a "rookie" Real Estate agent in the Salt Lake City, Utah area. He is attending classes during days, but Grandpa Stan wanted to make sure he stayed with the books in evenings also. He has cheerfully named me "Grandpa Gunnery Sergeant." The fact is, there are lots of agents/salesmen and salesladies in our country. There are plenty of reference books also. But, there are no courses in "sticktoit-ness" and a fledgling sales executive in that trade needs to be available to clients even when the golf course calls, or that salesperson pays the price by losing the business. My young lad cannot afford to lose business in favor of recreation, fun and games will eventually come. "Service" is the name of the game in sales and this is not college, it is either a pleasurable profession or an annoying time and prospect waster. Therefore I'll do my best to immerse the lad in his choice of profession. Success is sweet, and I hope for him to taste that everlasting sweetness that motivates one to do even better. To that end, his Grandpa on the east coast will assist the young man into staying his course with such timely books as recently purchased.

A good book for new real estate agents
This is a great book for the brand new real estate agent. It clearly lays down the undertaking it takes to succeed in Real Estate. Dirk Zeller writes in an entertaining fashion that moves things along in a steady pace. From cold-calling to door knocking, Dirk Seller covers all of it in one book. It's really a call-to-action, setting up some fundamentals for the new agent to succeed.

Outdated, needs revision, but some good info
This book was originally written in 2001. The second edition (which I’m reviewing here) came out in 2010. Today, 12 years later, much of the information is outdated, especially the Internet-centric parts. Also, the market is vastly different from 12 years ago and the advice doesn’t necessarily apply anymore. There are some good nuggets of wisdom, inspiration, and good ideas but this books is really in need of an update. It also could benefit from an accompanying audiobook like other similar books on this topic. It seems like this title has been abandoned. Knowing what I know now after finishing the book, I’d recommend a different, more modern book on this subject.

Learned a lot from this book
I’m pre-licensing with some familiarity of the RE business. Until I take my test I’m learning all I can before I get my license so I hit the ground running. I learned a lot from this book and there’s some good advice that I’ll be applying in my business. I plan on re-reading this book and picking out the best nuggets of advice that I’ll use daily.
