Fun way to practice rhyming and letter sounds
You could create your own version of these with a bunch of little boxes and laminating pics from the internet, but these save time and the rockets are more fun. Cards are thick and rockets reasonably sturdy for repeated use.The set includes suggested activities. A possibility they don't mention to make a math activity (or an easier activity for younger siblings) is to make your own cards with numbers on them (set only includes 2, 3, and 4) and have kids count the correct number of picture cards into each labeled rocket.

Perfect for Pre-K rhyme practice
This is a great activity for young children to practice rhymes. There are so many different rhyme sounds Choose from and the rockets are so fun!

Cool concept, lots of cards but some confusing. If you get it for less than $10 then good buy
The positives first - very cool concept using rockets as it completely appealed to my boy girl twins (though my baby girl wished there was a pink rocket). Plenty of picture cards but some were confusing even for me. Had to use the included word list to make sense of which word was meant to be emphasized. Wish the words were printed on the cards so the kids could have seen the patterns in the word families such as _at.One thing that I was extremely disappointed with was that a picture of a drawer apparently meant to go with rhyming word families for door.Normally, am a huge fan of learning resources products and recommend it to other moms and teachers, but would not recommend this one to other parents

Great learning to!
My son loves this game, he just turned 4 years old. We started him off by only doing two shuttles and added one until he understood the concept. He loves the game so much that he doesn't even realize he's learning rhyme.

Great game to play with all level of pre-K/K students
Great game to play with all level of pre-K/K students. We played the game as directed and then came up with more games using the pieces to play in a reading group with many skill levels.

Very disappointed
I was looking forward to receiving this product and playing and learning with my almost four year old son who absolutely loves rockets. Sadly this product did not meet my expectations. First of all the main part of the Rockets are made out of paper and cardboard which isn't going to hold up long term in our household. Secondly, the cards you feed into the rockets are square and the rockets are cylinder shaped. The cards got stuck in the rockets and when I tried to pull them out, I bent a few of the sides. Not sure why they did not make these cards round too. The tops of the rockets have two similar colors that were confusing to my son. I don't know why they didn't stick with basic primary colors? Why do two different blues and greens? I thought some of the pictures were a bit advanced and hard to pair up. Finally, making the back of the cards different colors based on difficulty would be a bit more helpful. The current suggestion is to put few cards out for first time learners but I really don't have a whole lot of time to sit and sort . I would prefer to start out easy then progress. I don't need 80 small cards out at once. It's a little overwhelming and my two year old starts carrying them off.

There are many ways to play and learn with these in class, the card board is not the most durable, but you just need to make sure they stay put :)

high price
The price point makes this product sub-par. It is a great little game but fragile and 5-6-year-olds needed help putting the rocket lids on. The sides are simply cardboard so they may not hold up for long in my kindergarten room.

Wouldn't recommend this at all.
Disappointing for the high price. Pictures are very small and the same sort of size as the circumference of the rockets, so the first time the children played, two pictures got wedged and well and truly stuck in the bottom of the rockets. I still haven't managed to extract them!!!!! Meant to send back but unfortunately didn't get time. Wouldn't recommend at all.
