Ioptron Equatorial Telescope Upgrade Control Console Cable Coding Line Ieq30pro RS232 to 4P4C RJ9 (6FT, for Ioptron)

Initial setup was pretty easy. I did have to get the CP210x USB to UART Bridge VCP Drivers for this to work on Windows 11. I was able to update firmware on my iOptron SmartEQ Pro+ and Hand Controller. It's also now working via the iOptron Commander ASCOM software in NINA. I'll circle back once I have this outside for a night or two.

It works. True, I've only tested it in my living room, but if it works here it should work outside on a dew-encrusted night. The usual attachment--connecting the supplied cable through a USB-to-RS-232 adapter--seems kludgy and archaic, and seems like a potential source of failure when lying in the grass waiting to be stepped on or soaked with dew. Or coffee. This new cable seems as well-made as any, is longer than I can imagine ever needing, and works. Plus, now I have a backup. . .always a good thing when miles from home in a dark-sky site. It took a month to get here from China--hey, Letotech, can't you do any better than that??--but it was worth the wait. I hope that if a few more of us buy it, maybe they'll put a little more money into the shipping. Still, I'm grateful Letotech has made it for us, and recommend it if you have an iOptron EQ mount that needs it.

Junk don't work

I thought I might have bought the wrong product as I have the ZEQ25 and SmartEQPro mounts. In addition, I'd never seen a telescope control cable for these mounts that had a USB plug at one end and a DB9 at the other. Usually, they end in a serial plug that requires a serial-to-USB converter containing chips that handle the conversion. As this cable did not have this configuration, I thought that it might work only with the IEQ30 Pro mount. When it arrived, I decided to give it a try and it worked with both mounts perfectly, and with my ASCOM drivers and planetarium software! No need for a separate Serial to USB converter. I didn't even have to load any extra drivers for it! Works brilliantly well!

Not much I can say other than it worked like it was intended. Bought it to control my CEM60 from PHD2 and N.I.N.A. on my mini PC and haven't had any issues with it

No adapter to lose or fall off The other unit I had was working just fine but was way too long and had that 232->usb adapter also to mess with. This one works just fine without any fuss and loaded driver with zero problems.

Connected to windows 10 laptop, needed to get SILAB CP 2102 to UART Universal driver installed. Updated HC unit with no connection issues. iOptron should just offer this cable and forget about the serial adapter.

Bought 14 months ago - it died without cause - seller refused to replace saying warranty is only 12months and I should buy another one - VERY disappointed in durability and in seller's lack of support for the customer
