"I would have waited an eternity for this" - An almost perfect Megatron figure
- OVERVIEW: WHAT'S INCLUDED? - Included is a Voyager-Class Megatron + accessories, with a design based on the character's appearance from the upcoming 2019 IDW comics reboot. While this is technically a new design, it's clearly based more on the Generation One cartoon character model more than anything else, though there are some additional influences. The way Megatron's tank treads fold onto the back recalls the design from IDW's "Megatron Origin". The figure is packaged in robot mode in what can be assumed to be the standard packaging for the new "Siege" toyline. The back of the packaging shows how Megatron may wield a Targetmaster-type figure, but such an accessory is not included. -THE FIGURE- Megatron transforms from a Cybertronian Tank with a fully rotatable turret. The tank treads do not move - movement is instead faciliated by a set of small plastic wheels. The transformation is fairly simple, child-friendly, and pretty much standard for a tank-bodied Megatron. The robot mode is well articulated overall, but less articulated than most modern Voyager Class figures, including the concurrently released Voyager Optimus Prime. Most of the joints appear to be simple hinges as opposed to ratcheted hinges, with the only ballpeg being at the neck, which has limited movement due to the head's bulk. Megatron is also taller and bulkier than Optimus, which is appropriate. Numerous 5 mm peg holes act as attachment points for any weaponry in the Siege toyline. Megatron is packaged with a cartoon-accurate fusion cannon, which need not be detached during transformation. Megatron's sword can also transform to extend the barrel length of the cannon in both modes. The paintjob is simple, but a good match for Megatron's G1 cartoon design, with mostly matte grey and black bodywork with occassional red, blue and yellow accenting, and a metallic grey face. The entire body is covered in metallic battle-damage detailing, which may be deliberately reminiscent of Megatron's iconic appearance during his fight with Optimus Prime in 1986's Transformers: The Movie. -PERSONAL THOUGHTS- In my opinion, this is the best Megatron manufactured by Hasbro/Takara. The newest Masterpiece Megatron may be larger, more complex and more show-accurate, but it has a pricepoint which makes it unobtainable to many. This figure is a fair compromise - an extremely G1-remiscent figure at an affordable pricepoint which will spark the nostalgia of older fans, but is also suitable as a durable toy for younger fans. This figure is also more suitably scaled to display alongside other CHUG figures, which Masterpiece figures often aren't. My favourite thing about this toy is the headsculpt. Previous CHUG Megatron heads resembled the G1 likeness to a degree, but none were able to nail it. This toy's facial resemblance to the classic Decepticon leader is perfect, almost as good as the newest Masterpiece figure. The lack of articulation compared to the concurrently released Optimus may bother some, but it could be a function of this toy's increased bulk. I'm relatively indifferent to the Cybetronian tank mode, but I usually always display Megatron figures in robot mode anyway. The only thing about this figure which I dislike is the oversized sword/barrel extender - it's not badly engineered per say, it just doesn't feel appropriate for a G1 Megatron. That said, there's nothing I'd rather have instead, and it doesn't detract from the figure's quality. Some may just see it as a neat bonus.

Awesome toy for both kids and adult collectors
This is definetly one of the most fun i’ve bought in recent years. The details, the paintjobs, the transformation and even the little gimmick are all great. Some may not like the “battle damage” paint, but i do. Makes it very different from all the other Transformers toys Hasbro has made in the past. I highly recommend this for any Transformers fans.

Tiny and not fun for kids. Returned

Finally a line that just focuses on making good representations of our beloved classic cast. No triple changer, no headmaster, no weird gimmicks (except maybe for shockwave...). Looking forward to the rest of this line.

Love this figure. Got this and the earthrise figure and I gotta say, the siege version I like better. More accurate to the tv show and the detail is better from the face and sword compared to earthrise. Even though I have both figures, I display this on in the robot mode and earthrise in tank mode as this is easily the better figure in my opinion. But either way, these War for Cybertron figures are G1 amazing and accurate to their depictions. Bring on Kingdom!!!

Megatron is one of my favorite Transformers characters, and one of my favorite villains of all time period... so when I saw a high-quality figure of him for sale at a decent price, I knew I had to have him. And I was not disappointed. This version of Megatron still looks very close to his G1 self, but nicely updated to accommodate a new alt mode and appeal to a new generation of collectors. And he's a figure that both kids and adults can enjoy. Megatron's color scheme isn't known for being terribly bright (unless you get his G2 green-and-purple repaint), but it's still nicely done, with weathering and "battle damage" added for detail and striking red highlights. The sculpting is phenomenal, capturing his face and the intricate details of his body very well, and he has plenty of articulation for good posing. I haven't transformed him, as he came in robot mode and I tend to display my figures in robot mode, so I can't comment on the transformation process. My only nitpicks with this figure would be that his head has a tendency to sink into his torso without warning and he has little articulation in his wrists. But these are minor complaints. Otherwise Megatron is an excellent figure good for collectors and kids alike, and certainly worthy of one of the most iconic villains of the '80s.
