Seems to be working well

These are just like the one I usually get from England! They are great for my electric Teakettle! But they are very expensive here!

Seems to be working so far. No build up on the sides of the kettle but there is some on the bottom. I realize I should have at least 2 or 3 in my kettle not just one. Very easy to clean. Didn't give 5 stars yet as I want to wait and see how it works for a few months.

We have very hard water and this little gem saves me from having to clean my tea kettle daily. Rinse with vinegar once a week and all is good.

I had serious doubts about this purchase, but I live in an area known for it's hard water scale build-up in things like tea kettles, coffee pots and so on. When I purchased the "Blue Heavy Duty Stainless Steel 2.5 LT Whistling Kettle" sold by: "One Way Street" on Amazon; different reviews reported "rust", also a problem here, I figured, for the price, even if it doesn't work, I'm not out that much. Before this "scale collector" came in, I was already seeing signs of potential scale in the form of loose sediment every time I boiled water. (several times a day). When this "scale collector" came, I immediately put it in my new pot. I still love the pot. The color is almost a perfect shade of blue.. my favorite. This little "scale collector" did and keeps on doing it's job. The sediment is all but completely gone, (If not completely), and not a hint of rust. I don't want to attribute too much to this simple device, but I'm just reporting as I see it. Would I recommend this simple little device ? Absolutely. If you have the same problem with sediment as I did, give it a try. I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

Don’t know how it works, but it really “does what it says on the tin”. I have very hard water but there’s no scale in my kettle.

Not doing anything, and waist of money

I didn't think to take a pic of the scaling on my kettle before cleaning it with this, but I spent a lot of time trying to remove the scaling with very little progress whatsoever for like 30 minutes before thinking to buy this, and with this and a bit of water I finally managed to get all the scale buildup off my electric kettle in like 5 minutes and making it look like new when before I had a literal coating-sized layer of mineral buildup that was completely glued on and made the kettle look ancient due to the hard-water where I live

Been using this for a good month and we make a lot of tea. By this time, my stovetop kettle should have that familiar coating along the inside from our frequent use and hard water. Our kettle’s interior is clean! Every couple of weeks I take the metal ball out of the kettle and clean it as outlined in instructions. Simple and effective. Highly recommended for tea lovers.

This is a great item to add to your kettle. We have hard water with minerals and this little thing helps keep the kettle clean! Will definitely re-order

I've had this in my stainless steel kettle for a month or so now and, while it doesn't remove existing scale it does seem to keep more from forming on the walls of the kettle. I'm sure if you started with and absolutely clean kettle this would keep it that way. As it says in the instructions, cleaning scale off the collector is easy. Just squeeze it like a sponge and rinse it off and the scale falls away.

I have a two gallon water distiller that I use this device in. We have a fairly high mineral content in our civic water so there is a fair bit of scale produced by the unit. It wasn’t too hard cleaning it with a bit of steel wool but this unit collects some (not all) and what’s left now does not seem to be as dense as before. Still have to scrub but a 5-10 minute job is now 4-7 minutes and I’m happy with how it works for me. This was not particularly expensive and I may order another on the chance to make cleanup even easier.
