Great 34oz French Press.

Holds heat as advertised, filters out grounds very well and makes a great pot of coffee.
Made first pot this morning and came out perfect. It definitely holds the heat as advertised. My only concern is the ring on the lid you adjust to the pouring slots appears to be plastic. Not sure that will hold up well even with handwashing. It looks good, pours neatly and the triple filters definitely kept grounds out of the finished coffee.

Great value through simplicity.
I recently broke my previous french press after about 4 years of daily service. I went with this one for price, double glass and simplicity. It covers those bases well. The best part is the double glass beaker, which does seem to keep the coffee warm longer. It feels sturdier as well. but I have not dropped it yet (knock on wood). I believe the low price is covered in the quality of the press and screen. It does give you two screens, plus and extra set, which is a good value. However, the top of the press, though nice looking, is plastic and the actual press cage is made of much thinner metal then my last press. The screens also lack a ring in the center where the press pole goes through and i fear this will lead the the screen fraying and tearing sooner rather then later. All that said, so far I am happy overall with the product and do recommend it. Makes the best cup of coffee around!

Best French Press!
There are lots of coffee makers out there and I think I have purchased half of them. After years of using everything from Chemex to contraptions that grind and brew, I concluded that French Presses make the best coffee, i. e., the taste of the bean is clear and strong. This is the best French press I have found. In addition to wanting an excellent cup of coffee, I like the maker to be aesthetically pleasing. Neurotic, yes, but why look at ugly stuff? Not only do you get a marvelous cup of coffee, from an attractive vessel, the double wall keeps it warmer longer. The directions for brewing are online and precise. It arrived quickly and carefully packed. I cannot say enough good things about the Kitchellence French Press.

Glass shattered after first normal use. Same thing happened with replacement.
Ordered this based on the positive reviews and low price point. First time using it I added coffee and water (around 190F) as usual, and left to sit on the counter. After about 30 seconds there was a loud popping noise and I could hear what sounded like broken glass swirling around the bottom. After emptying it was clear that the inner layer of the two-pane glass had shattered, allowing broken glass to mix with the coffee.Ordered a replacement, and the first time using it the glass didn't break immediately. Made coffee as usual but after about 15 minutes (I'm assuming as it started to cool) there was another loud pop. Same thing, inside glass shattered. If this happened without someone noticing there could be serious consequences (i.e. drinking glass in your coffee).

Best press out there...
I have had this since November and I waited to review to see it's durability. I am sad to see it is not currently available and hope it is because it is sold out because it is simply the best. I have tried more expensive brands, popular brands, and they have all failed super fast no matter how careful I was. Besides being extremely durable, it makes fabulous coffee. I hope if anything ever happens to it, I have the ability to purchase it again.

UPDATED-shattered
I used this for nine months problem free and then all of the sudden this morning I heard a loud pop and the glass had shattered. It was the inside of the glass so thankfully it didn’t go all over my counter but nonetheless it is broken and ruined. I’m going to try to get a hold of the company but other than that I must say that it definitely should’ve lasted for more than nine months. Now I know what other people were talking about with the glass shattering and I apologize for not heeding their warnings!

Yes, defective
Fortunately mine lasted exactly 1 year and then alas, i heard the POP. Inside of glass shattered. I thought Maybe I had the top sealed too tight or near heat, but after reading the reviews yes, it's defective.

I returned it before it blew up in my child's face.
I read some of the reviews and decided I didn't want to spend a night in the ER watching doctors pull glass shrapnel from my toddler's crying bloody face. There are, however, some really nice stainless steel options on here in the same price range!
