for composting I put it on the end of a 4' copper pipe
I got a thermocouple reader and mounted this on the end of a 4' pipe to see the internal temperatures of my 10,000 pound compost piles. IT works Great.

K-Type, backup
Better to have a couple of extra K-types than to get running and have your SINGLE unit fail. I'll never only have one on hand again.

Price is right
Have a temperature controller? A K-type thermocouple like this is just what the doctor ordered. Price is right. Is it accurate to .000001%. I have no idea & don’t care. Am using it in a wall-oven into an outside pizza oven. It does the job. Would I buy another? You betcha.

Superb Quality
This is a very nice thermocouple probe with much higher quality than I expected for the cost. Very well made and versatile. Add this to a medium/low cost thermometer and it becomes a more versatile and accurate instrument.

Careful with the wiring
Unlike a standard thermocouple (positive = yellow, negative = red), on this one positive = red, negative = blue end on black wire. Seems to work adequately for the price once you get over that hurdle.

Inexpensive and Accurate
If you need a longer probe this inexpensive K thermocouple is working well for me. My readings are within a half of degree of accuracy which is good enough for my needs and so far it has continued to work.

Good quality but with slow delivery
Temperature is accurate, quality is not bad, but delivery is too slow, more than 2 weeks with $20+ shipping fee.
