Good, but no miracles.
Damage: carpet, burned by incense, area similar to dollar coin. For an area of this size and a carpet of medium height, I found that the product cannot perform a flawless fix. Since the area is rather large, I had to fill up the hole caused by the burn on a number of layers. I used fibers from a similar carpet; after gluing them, the height of the hole was still not level with the rest of the carpet. I had to repeat the operation a few times, gluing carpet fibers on top of the lower layer until the height reached the original carpet level. However, this produces a patch that is rough to the touch, due to the large area and layers of glue applied. It is indeed conspicuous, not resembling the original carpet as pictures in the product box may suggest, but it is less conspicuous than the burn mark. The glue is virtually invisible after drying. At the last layer, I did use the fibers furnished by the kit, since the carpet fibers I was using were of slightly different color (the fibers provided by the kit are not carpet fibers; they are very small, resembling common fabric fibers). I used the color guide and started with not too much fiber, since I anticipated that I would have to keep adding more fibers of specific colors in order to reach a perfect color match. I mixed the kit fibers in the provided cup, compared with the carpet, and kept adding some more colors which I judged would improve the color match. After three or four steps of this procedure, I did get an almost perfect match with my original carpet, and enough fibers to sprinkle on top of my patch. Now, the area is still rough to the touch, it is conspicuous due to the roughness and the fibers do not stand up as in an original carpet's fibers. Nevertheless, the color is matched and it is hard to tell there was a burned hole in there.I believe that, for smaller carpet areas, the product should perform much better and provide very good fixes. But I think that the product would show its real strength in repairing fabric, since the fibers provided in the kit are very small and resemble more of fabric than carpet.I liked the overall quality. One more star would be given if the product came with more glue; for the amount of glue that ships with the kit, it will be exhausted long before you can consume half of the fibers.

No honor Amongst Thieves
Wow, just wow, ive been trusting amazon far too long. So i bought this little gem in a rush didnt read a single review, just took a straight up shot in the dark.(Amazons been good to me). I gota move out like now im rushing so i can spend some time on the carpet, like my cat did. I grab my repair kit i watch some youtube on it real quick, i open my kit and wtf............but i thought...hey, dont be quick to judge, you never know right? In most cases yes, but not mine, i got plenty of fibers to lay down, all i really need is some strong glue. Now i went to school like most off you, and like most of you i played with the glue. Me and Elmer were close so close i use to smell it, i use to spread it on my palm and let it dry and peel it off. I could never forget that glue, and thats exactly whats in here... elmers glue, its not a total lost bc my son will get use from the glue. But if your relying on a product that will help you in a pinch, maybe save you your down payment on your APARTMENT? very, very bad product and for a company such as AMAZON.COM to be supporting this, shows that they are no better then this "carpet repair kit" and I might as well go to walmart and spend my money there. Its not only about the big sales that count, its the small ones as well. Im highly disappointed not only that, but im hurt, im hurt that i put my trust and my money into YOU. and you spit in my face. MmmMm idk if this can be forgiving...

Hmph...
I'm not super impressed with this product but it was cheap. The most usable part is the glue. It dries clear! Your best bet is to trim some carpet pieces from an area of your carpet that is not visible. Then use the glue to attach them to the spot you're trying to repair. The mix-your-own carpet fibers that come with the kit are tough to color-match. That said, I did have fun mixing up the fibers TRYING to match my carpet's color. I got close, just not close enough. It was a fun craft project. And like I said, the kit is cheap. Good luck!

Do not order if you are over seventy years old.
Shipping is so slow you will probably die of old age before it arrives.

Carpet Repair Kit Review
Delivery time was quite quick from Amazon.com. I was really impressed with this product. It pretty much does what it claims to do repair minor carpet damage such as cigarret burns in carpet.pro's: Does what it suppose to do well. And has good instruction on it's usages.con's: Even though you get a color mixing chart to mix the fiber to get your color. You will have to make a couple of test mixes to match you carpet color. Which can be a bit of a challenge.

Works well!
This product is exactly as described. It works very well. I used my own fibers that I managed to get away from the puppy when he chewed a hole in carpet. Could stand to have a little more backing material included for larger areas, but other than that, I had no problem with it. For as large of an area that I was repairing, about the size of top of can of soda, it worked amazingly!! The area is barely noticable now, and if you didnt know it was there, you wouldnt be able to tell and it was in a very obvious place! Thanks again for saving me hundreds of dollars in repair from a professional!!

Does the job, kin of...
It's possible to match your carpet color, it's impossible to fix any carpet tear or rip without causing a very hard spot on the carpet where you repaired it making it seem like you spilled super glue on it, since you basically did get super glue on the carpet, you just covered it with a color match to your carpet...

Worked great for an unusual project.
I used this for a fairly unique cosmetic repair. I accidentally spilled a few drops of hydrochloric acid on the rear carpet of a relatively new 911 Porsche--long stupid story. Most was on the carpet mats (thank God), but there were a few places on both vertical and horizontal surfaces of the actual carpet that were damaged and very noticeable. I had filled in divots with some 3M black gasket adhesive and shavings from the floor mat. The color match was just not right. I then put a small amount of the Carpet Repair Adhesive on top of those areas and sprinkled the black fibers which came in the kit on top. PERFECTO!! You cannot see the defects at all. I highly recommend.

It does look better for sure
I bought this to repair a small burn in my relatively new carpet. It works but dries hard. My partner had to mix and re-mix a few colours before coming up with a very close match. It does look better for sure. I would recommend mixing the colours in natural daylight to get a good match.

Good kit for small things
Good kit for small things. I would advise to experiment first on an old piece of carpet or a corner of carpet where no one will see. Follow the instructions as far as you can. Make sure any hole in the carpet is filled up with the glue. I bought more UPVA glue as the stuff supplied wasnt enough for what I wanted. I also used my fingers to sprinkle the fibres on, and gently brushed access off after glue dried. Quite a good result.

Does work
Actually does work. Don't think it will last long with a hoover going over it twice a week but it's ok for now.

Do not waste your money as all of the contents are not in the box. You could do up a kit on your own and save a great deal of money. I would have given this 0 stars if that were an option.
