Superb!
Look, I'm not going to lie. I'm 46 and my kids are all grown up and I read this for no other reason than it looked like a fun read. Well, I was not disappointed as this was so much fun to read and the pictures brought it to life. I learned a lot. I also learned you are never to old to enjoy a book for youngsters :)

Enthused a 9-year-old girl for history
I bought this for my daughter. She loved it. Every night, after we read her bedtime story, we'd go on to read a double-page-spread from this book. After the first night, I didn't have to remind her. She would run to her room to fetch A Street Through Time. She enjoyed poring over the main illustrations. And the call-outs prompted her to ask lots of questions. When we reached the pages on post-Roman period, she was fascinated by the idea that civilization can go backwards. And toward the end of the book, she would flick backwards and forwards between pages, looking to see what had remained across the centuries. Tremendous good fun.

History meets Where's Wally
A fascinating book that takes the same piece of land and shows how it would have developed over the ages. It has plenty of interesting facts without being too wordy and we all enjoyed it. The book isn't a large enough format for some of the details to be seen particularly clearly but the children didn't seem to mind and enjoyed finding the characters on the pages.

One of my children's favourite
My children love this book so much that after borrowing it 10 times from the library, I finally bought it. It's great to see the evolution of a village into a city and spot the details through the ages.

A beautiful book, great illustrations.
Full of information that's not boring, with super illustrations. Something new to spot each time you look at it.
