Works quite well for the Odroid H2
This is an i2c to GPIO extender board that is very fast and easy to run on the Odroid H2 on Ubuntu. I'm using dotnet core for the application, directly calling the Ubuntu libi2c library. The best part is it will run at the highest i2c clock speed available on the H2, 1mhz clock speed. The specs here are not accurate. I can add 8 total for 128 GPIO per bus and 256 total GPIO ports if I use both i2c ports on the H2. I'll never need that many but it's nice to know it extends out that far. This could easily work on any SOC / computer with I2C ports, including windows using the FT232H usb to I2c board. If you need python examples, just google "MCP23017 python".

Can Be Made 'Breadboard Friensly'
If you install the 16 I/O pin header facing down (on non-component side) it will readily plug into a solderless breadboard. Install the power and data pin header up (on component side) for easy access.

These work great. I do wish they had more ground and power pins.

I'll admit I cheated and used an arduino library, but I have this hooked up to a tiny esp8266 and it works like a charm running 16 relays (I do have a separate power source that can run it all at 5v.)
