Excellent PDA - YOU MUST GET ONE!
I've been using my Jornadas for years now and been quite happy with them, so you can imagine how wonderful it was to find this PDA for 140 quid from a seller on Amazon. Upgrading from a Jornada 928 was really a leap so you might be thinking that I'd think any of the new PDAs were brilliant. But, I have to say, this has all the features you could possible want for email, internet browsing (even though the mobile version is more limited than the PC version). Browsing is quick - pictures and text are loaded quickly from internet sites. You can use it for eBay. I am a seller and I use it to check my sales and the wap version of the eBay site loads fine and is easy to use (I had trouble loading it on my phone - it was just awful!). I haven't found any website to be a problem yet. Just tap the wi-fi icon and it finds your broadband router and asks for the wep key - it's that easy! I put my email details in and it tells me on my 'Today' screen if I have any new messages. It doesn't automatically delete them from the server, so you can use it as a window to view your messages before dealing with them properly at your laptop/pc. You can, however, set the PDA to delete all the messages from the server at the same time as you delete them from your PDA if you wish by changing a setting in the options. The newest version of Active Sync was supplied and picked up my new PDA and my old PDA no problem. The 'OK' button pressed and held for a couple of seconds lets you rotate the screen to landscape and I have found I prefer this view for other applications as well as for internet browsing. A left-handed option is also available in settings. I don't know what else to say other than this has wi-fi, bluetooth which are both really easy to set up. Ok, there's no phone or camera but I've already got a camera phone that I love for that and it suits me fine to have a PDA that's just for internet use and organization. All the necessary notes, word and calculation programs are included as well as superb media software. Programs load quickly so there's no waiting between screen taps and something happening. Fantastic little PDA! Great bargain and worth every penny! GET ONE!

A good PDA let down by poor manufacture
I have used daily this PDA for over 18 months. It is well designed and reasonably intuitive to use. Connecting to wireless networks is straight foreword, as is setting up connections to Microsoft Exchange, email etc.. However, it failed suddenly, apparently due to a failure in the circuit which charges the battery. I have found a number of comments on web forums where users have had the same problem with this model. This is not an easy repair and so unfortunately the unit is now useless. Overall, the design and functionality is good, but it seems HP have compromised on the quality of components.

HP iPAQ 114
I bought this PDA to replace my broken one, of the same make, which I have had for several years. The new one doesn't have the draw facility on it, which was great for getting people to sign but this can be bought from the software available. there is a tremendous amount of additional software and at a fair price. The only downside is that I find the battery life poor. It is only lasting a couple of hours. I don't know if better batteries are available but I would have expected longer. I also had trouble getting it to synchronise at first but they seem to have recognised each other now. Overall I love it.

Satisfied of UK
I had a more complicated iPAQ before with GPS and Mobile Phone. Just wanted a normal PDA this time and this does the job well with a few software adds-ons such a those from DeveloperOne and a couple of extra games (some free points for these from HP). I'm a happy bunny. I have used both the bluetooth and the Wi_fi successfully, but mostly keep them off for security purpose. I use an extra SD memory for additional programs and picture storage etc. No problems with this and rather easier to handle than on previous iPAQ.

waste of money
Battery life can be measured in minutes, even with no programs running. My 4th battery is no better, so I suspect that the Ipaq itself is at fault. Instruction manual and disc are unhelpful. It took me 2 weeks to realise that there isn`t an off button, the device stays on permanently. Navigation of the screen is average, but sometimes painfully slow. Sync to a PC is very easy and is the only good function worth mentioning. Would I rcommend buying an Ipaq 114, definitely not.

Does what I need
Ordered this as a replacement for my old that I've lost. What I use a lot is the calendar and notes for which I find it's great. I do not use it to get online, but from previous experience there is much better displays and interface nowadays when it come to browsing the net. Pros: I like the windows mobile soft keyboard, with the good old arrow keys that makes it easier than with Android or MacOS keyboards to move 1 characters back or forth. It also has the Ctrl key for easy select, cut, copy or paste of text. Cons: It seems it's not easy to sync and create backups on your computer, if it uses anything newer than WindowsXP.

Excellent Buy
This is my 4th Jornada/Ipaq 2 of them I damaged in accidents the other started to have system failures but I had it several years, I have had no trouble with any of them. I have had this one 4 years and my main use is a diary, job list and address book. I like the fact that if you have a recurring appointment on the same day every week/month/year you only have to make one entry and it is there for ever. If for some reason one appointment moves you can edit just that one. It used to connect to my laptop but as windows as developed it has been left behind. The battery in mine is still going strong it lasts about three or four days at a charge. The person who said it hasn't got an off switch couldn't have checked very hard mine has. PDA's seem to have died the death now overtaken by smart phones at three to four times the price. I shall be devastated when mine dies for I shan't be able to replace it.

Good product but got bored with it
My work and life takes me all over so I thought it was time to get a bit more organised and reduce my scraggy bits of paper usuage. This gadget was the answer to all my prayers as it can store so much more information than my mobile phone. Unfortunately I have returned to my luddite best and it has gone to the back of my drawer with other gadgets I thought would be useful. I cannot knock this as it is a great piece of kit and maybe two stars is too harsh but I couldn't resist the callings of my scraggy bits of paper. I am too much like Columbo if you remember him.

Ipaq 114
