A delightful read!
This is just a delightful read. I think I noticed only one grammatical error. Excellent writing, excellent organization, a laugh a minute. I would look forward to another book by Jeff Dunham to bring us up-to-date. Actually, I would like just a little more of his personal life. But it's fascinating how he got interested in ventriloquism as a child, and never let go of it. It's a lesson is parenthood - give your children opportunities and let them run wild.

Wow. Just wow.
I NEVER expected this book to be so fantastic! I have been into ventriloquism since the 1960s, and especially love it's rich history and reading about it's practitioners. So as you can imagine, i have read a LOT of books about ventriloquists. This one ranks supreme on my list for sure. It truly gives us the whole picture of a super gifted genius of our beloved art. I can NOT recommend it highly enough! Bravo!!

Class Act
I’ve always liked Jeff Dunham partially because he seems like one of the nicest people in show business. I’ve seen his act and it is very funny. The story of his life is very interesting and very well written and easy to read.

Couldn't agree more - Great Book
I just wanted to state my agreement with the other reviewers. This is a good book about (and by) a great comedian. I got the Kindle version, and the little graphics of the various characters as they spout off throughout the book is a nice touch, something I've not seen in Kindle books before.I always thought that Jeff seemed like a nice, "stand-up" kind of guy (pun intended), and this book just helped to reinforce that. He's very thoughtful about whether his routines go over the line or not, but he's also got that thing that I think all great comedians have, and that's the thing deep down inside that makes you just have to try something, even if it might be a disaster, because it's just too good to let go by. I've always had that inside of me (although obviously I'm not a professional comedian), so it was fun to live vicariously through him as he recounts some of those times. I could almost hear the little voice inside my head, which in my case doesn't take bodily form like his does, saying "go for it!"Anyway, if you're a Jeff Dunham fan, this is a MUST read, and if you're not, well, what's wrong with you?? :)Dan

A light-hearted book with a great voice (or voices)!
I've seen Jeff Dunham in person several times & he puts on a great show. Not only is he talented, but he really cares about his audience getting the most out of his show for their money; he's really worth seeing in person - I highly recommend it! Now that I've said that, I am a fan. I bought this book and thought, it might be a fun read - and I was curious to how Walter, Peanut, and Achmed would be worked into it. What I found was a light-hearted book that provided a lot of information about how Jeff's family, how he got started in his career, and who he met along the way (many of it will surprise you). From the fact that he met Bob Hope at such a young age, auditioned for Johnny Carson countless times, to the fact that he was going to ask Ellen Degeneres out (does she know this yet?) and how he met his wife (now ex-wife)- I was really impressed by his career, his enthusiasm to do what he loved, and his family's support. It's a great read that is funny and cute!

Funny Dummies
Very appropriate book title. Very engaging text. Very interesting person.I discovered Jeff, by accident , just a few years ago on TV. In my opinion, he is the funniest and most talented American living today! So, I did some research to see if a book existed about his life. To my delight, I found his autobiography. It is wonderful. I highly recommend this book.If you also love his humor and ventriloquism, you must read this book. Jeff has natural talent. Combined with his hard work and dedication, Jeff is a prototypical "American" success story. This is the rare book which makes you laugh -out-loud while reading!I hope to have the opportunity to see Jeff perform some day. Until then, my wish for Jeff and his "buddies" is that they; " Live long and prosper." Except Achmed, of course, for which the statement is seemingly an oxymoron!Dr. Stanley E. Very entertaining and complete
This book gives a comprehensive and entertaining perspective of why Dunham is very funny. Hard to believe that the puppets aka dummies are not real. Lots of insight how he makes them come alive. He is also terrific as a "standup comedian". Should be mentioned that his shows are mainly for adults.
