Quality product, does the job!
After reading reviews about bending the "small" bolts, I was a little worried and thought I might need to purchase some Grade 8 bolts but went ahead and tried the tool with the included small bolts. I have a 2009 Subaru Forester and recently replaced the timing belt. I couldn't get the crankshaft pulley bolt to proper torque, so I purchased this tool. The tool arrived today and I immediately opened the package and found the tool to be of good quality; weight felt good and it appeared that it would hold up to the proper torque needed to tighten up the pulley bolt. I used all 4 of the small bolts, included with the tool, and attempted to use the tool to finish the job. The tool worked great for me! Got the bolt to 130 ft lbs and had no bent bolts. Just make sure you have all 4 bolts in the pulley holes and the tool is inserted flush against the pulley so that all bolts are into the holes as far as the can go and you should be fine. I definitely recommend this tool.

It's the champion if you use it right!
I have 2 Subarus and this tool saved me a ton of $$$$! It worked perfectly. The trick to not bending the bolts is to only thread the bolt halfway through. No joke! No bent bolts after using it 4 times and I put huge force on them. Still looks brand new. No threads damaged either, and yes, the bolts are very substandard. Still, a few grade 10 bolts to replace the bent ones is maybe $1 a piece. Add a drop of loctite to keep them in perfect position and it would be bombproof.

Right tool for the job
I just rebuilt my EJ25 SOHC engine and I'm very happy I purchased this specialty tool. I've seen all sorts of YouTube videos and hacks to remove and tighten the harmonic balancer. It took me seconds with this tool and a 26" breaker bar to remove the harmonic balancer. When installing the crankshaft pulley, it's very important to have the bolt torqued to proper spec. This tool allowed me to do the job safely and without damaging the car or myself. Face it, you're already saving tons of money doing the job yourself so why not spend an extra few bucks and buy the right tool for the job.

Worked but could be better.
I give it 2 stars because after trying to remove the pulley without the tool was a no go but once I got this I was able to get the pulley off in about 10 seconds. I'd have given it 5 stars but I didn't receive it in one day like it was guaranteed and the bolts are so bent after removing the pulley I have to hammer them straight in order to tighten the pulley back up. Not sure how I'll be able to use this tool again as I can't just back the bolts out as they're bent and if I cut them it'll more than likely strip the threads taking the remaining bolt out. So did it help, yes but I feel like I've wasted $40.

Plan on replacing smaller hardware, still half as much as competitors!
Great value for the money, same tier of tool as the more expensive company23 gold standard of Subaru crank pulley holder, EXCEPT for the fact that it comes with weak hardware. I didn’t use the thicker bolts because the crank pulley on my EJ253 uses the smaller bolts and it definitely bent them real good on the way out, although to their credit after bending them back into place with a nut and vice grips they held the crank pulley as I torqued it to spec and they threaded out with not much fuss when I replaced them. Overall good value!

It works the same as Company23's version
2005 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport EJ25 engine timing belt replacement - Easy to use, well made and strong, much more affordable than many other brands at the time. It works the same as Company23's version and way cheaper saved lots of $$$ with this tool. I'll give this tool Two Thumbs Up

Does what it is suppose to.
Worked great. Nice that it is for multiple motors. Used in rebuild of 2006 Subaru Baja Turbo. Now takes up a lot of room in tool box. LOL

Buy this for a Subaru
Cheaper than other brand names but does the job. It (and also others) can also be used to hold the cam gear by using 2 or 3 bolts. Makes life easier when doing in-car timing belt replacement. Bolts can be upgraded but that would probably raise the price.
