Perfect replacement for my dead mapco capacitor - 53-64 MFD! Great Buy!
I had an old Allister Type IIA garage door opener! The starter capacitor went out cause the garage wouldn’t open but you could hear an electric hum sound. So the capacitor was trying but didn’t have the capacitance to start the motor. I hooked mine up to my multimeter and measured the capacitance and it was 24 MFD, micro farads. It was rated to be 53-64. It was a Mepco/central capacitor. You do not have to buy the same one, it just needs to be the same rating! Mine was 250 VAC @ 60hz. This one had the same specs and it works perfect. I was close to buying a whole new opener at the store and then didn’t want to spend the $250 it would cost plus installation time. I read the motors last forever so I think this new capacitor will give it many more years of life. This was installed in 91 so it lasted a long time! Great buy!

Works!
Received 4 days after order placed. Fit where old capacitor was with some wiggle room so it's a bit smaller. Wires connected easily and the garage door works. Don't know how long it'll last bit after two days running smoothly.

Direct replacement for Linear 050
Direct replacement for linear LD050 after the textbook pop and white smoke signaling a blown capacitor! I did have to use a flat head screwdriver to pry the old capacitor out as it was attached using double sided tape of some kind.Be careful for risk of Electric shock when dealing with capacitors! Even when unplugged! Make sure opener is unplugged, be careful what you are touching, and wear thick rubber gloves and use tools with insulated handles!Opener works flawlessly after installation.

Buy the OEM LINEAR capacitor
My garage door suddenly stopped working after 16 years of service. It wouldnt move the door at all. I checked the gears and they had alot of wear left. Code from blinking lights on opener said it didn't have enough force to move the door.Bought a replacement capacitor at a local store. Wrong move. It lasted just over a week and burned out. When I took it back they told me it must be my motor since their capacitor worked for a while.Everything I read online said garage door unit motors rarely fail.Bought this one about a month ago and its still going. Dont waste time and money with knock offs, get the real solution and buy this when you need to replace the capacitor.

Fix your buzzing/humming garage door opener
I have a 30+ year old craftsman 1/2HP garage door opener that all of a sudden would not go down and would buzz briefly when you attempted to close the door. The original capacitor failed open as a metal tab corroded inside. The old Mallory capacitor was a bit longer and smaller in diameter than this one but the value was right in the specified range. I just secured it with some cable ties through some holes and went on my way. I have used EPCOS capacitors in various projects as well and have not run into any issues with them. The garage door opener is back to life and saved me some $$$.

Saved me $$$ over having a garage door guy come and fix my opener!
Well, I was oiling my garage door tracks and running my door up and down about 4 times and then POOF! A bunch of white smoke poured out of my opener. Oh 5H1T!But a quick visit to youtube educated me that it was only the motor starting capacitor.I ordered one, got it the next day, installed it and PRESTO! Everything works perfectly now. Thanks AMAZON!
