Excellent cable, but make sure you have some space for the DVI end.
I've been using this for a good while now for my center monitor on my desktop setup (currently using an NVidia GTX 670 graphics card and three 1080p monitors) and this cable has been performing admirably. It also has a hefty build quality with very thick insulation around the cable. No complaints, but one warning. The brick at the DVI end of the cable is HUGE and ill-suited for some monitors. Double check that you have a couple inches of clearance coming out of your DVI connection before purchasing. It doesn't work on some of my monitors for this reason.

Turns out that I did need it
I bought this by mistake a while ago, but ended up needing it when I brought my tower computer home from work during the COVID apocalypse. I had an older monitor without HDMI or DisplayPort and my work tower didn't have HDMI or DVI. Fortunately this was just what I needed to hook up my monitor.

Great Value
The 6ft DP-DVI cable is the cheapest available at the time, and it shows. As others have mentioned, the DVI plug is much longer than normal and the thumbscrews on the DVI plug are molded smooth (no knurling for grip) which makes it difficult to tighten them by hand (especially when upside down and in a blind spot during installation). The cable itself is quite stiff, slightly more than the average OEM DVI cable that come with some monitors. The DP connector is fortunately quite good. All I've installed so far have clicked into place flawlessly.Despite the cheap feel, these have been so far sufficient for office use. The installation inconveniences of the DVI side will probably make you leave that end connected to the monitor when moving things around.

One cable worked, one didn't
There's usually not much to say about products like this. You plug em up and either they work or they don't. With one pair of these cables the pin for the red signal was weak or misaligned or something. The screen was mostly readable but little spots here and there had little red fuzz around various icons, graphics, and other objects. Literally looked like a virus was eating away at my screen one pixel at a time. Pressing it in more firmly didn't do much nor did wiggling it around. I swapped it with the other cable being used on the second monitor and the problem followed.

DisplayPort to DVI cable failed in 3 months
Purchased on 12/1, cord failed on 3/16. Never had a cable completely stop working like this before, and I was convinced it was the port on my motherboard. Tried the cable on other monitors and video cards/computers and determined this cable is the issue. Cannot recommend.

works great
built well and saved me a lot of headaches with people who had older monitors, I do believe it also works in the reverse situation with old pc's and new monitors but I wont stake my life on that.

The cable works just fine and allows you to use an older monitor on your newest computer.
This cable worked just fine.Thank goodness for this cable to allow me to not have to go out and purchase a new monitorwhen I already have several good ones but they don't have Display Port. What I don't like is DisplayPort. It is an overly complicated protocol. And I don't like the name. It's a generic term used as a specific term. Causes confusion.DVI is a display port but it is not Display Port. VGA is a display port but it is not Display Port.Confused yet? I think I'll get the name of my road changed to Street. And I'll name my first born male, My Son.We could start a company called A Plumber.Ever try searching the internet for companies that use generic terms as their names? The company name is buried in the noise. I have enough trouble with a computer companythat chose to name itself after a fruit. Fortunately they are big enough to override thesearch engine hits on McIntosh. Unless it's a McIntosh I am actually looking for andthen all I can find is cell phones. The Display Port protocol allows for daisy chaining monitors from just one output of the computer. But I have not once witnessed where that has actually been implemented. And the protocol is very complicated because you have to convert from parallel data to a massive packetized serial stream.Which means you could have sync delay problems. You can convert VGA to DVI fairly easily. And DVI to HDMI is actually not even a conversion because it is essentially the same thingwith just a different connector. But it takes a massive processor to convert DVI to Display Port. So this cable must have anice big ASIC to do the job. It does it well. And it's amazing that the price is so good.Congratulations to Comtop for offering a nice solution to a mess the computer industry has created.

3 stars for that, 4 stars for
lowest price cable I could find, does the job. The tighten-down screws on the plug are more rubbery rather than plastic and gave me some trouble. Not knurled properly with grooves to use your fingers and screw drivers mash up the slot.3 stars for that, 4 stars for electronic function based on value, price.

Me fue muy difícil encontrar este cable en tiendas de electrónica , y cuando lo encontraba, su precio está muy elevado.Esta opción me funciono de maravilla.El cable en si se ve resistente y con buen acabado.Envió rápido y confiable por Amazon
