Psst! Furman isn't just for pros! It works with home theater amps! Keep it a secret!
If you have speaker pop, this is the go to solution! My situation involved a pre-amp and 3 amplifiers for a home theater. The pre-amp has a 12VDC trigger. But the amplifiers turn on so quickly that before the pre-amp is ready there is this loud speaker pop! I used the remote input on the back of the Furman with an old stereo headphone cable with a 3.5mm jack. Cut the wire leads near the headphone. Burn off lacquer off all three wires with a lighter. Twist the red and green wires together and leave the copper wire alone. Insert twisted cable as REM in the Furman and copper into GND. Turn on Dip Switch 1 on the Furman. Plug stereo jack into pre-amp 12VDC trigger. Voila! The Furman now sequentially turns on my subwoofer amplifer, then 2-channel amp, and 7-channel amp. I like the simple Pi filter for basic EMI/RFI filtering. No need to over complicate the filters when connecting amps. Simpler the better. Great sound too!

Furman is the most trusted power conditioner, period.
When I wanted to add a power sequencer to our church's media booth, Furman was the only brand I considered. Top notch quality I have come to expect from them. Not only does this one make sure the incoming power is safe for your expensive gear, but with the flip of switch it will boot up the gear in the order you need it to. This prevents the horrid speaker pops and bangs and makes it easy to train volunteers in the booth.

It's expensive, but so is whatever your plugging into it.
This sequencer solved my speaker thump issue. I was using a series of surge protectors before, and this eliminated three of them. It looks professional and appears to be built to last. I think it helped my noise floor, but that could be placebo effect. It certainly didn't add any noise, that's for sure. System is dead quiet in-between albums. I would recommend this to anyone who is experiencing speaker thump on startup or shutdown with separate amp/preamp audio systems.

BEST “ENTRY LEVEL” POWER CONDITIONER
This is my first time buying a power conditioner so I didn’t really know where to start but the Furman Merit Series is the “entry level” series of Conditioners and the M-8S works great!

It does the job - at a price
Furman equipment is quite good, but it is expensive.

Great item good value
Replaced our broken equipment perfectly. We now have the remote capability again to sequence power up of our amps from our sound booth via CAT-5 and our Firman PS1 switch.

Es el equipo que se requiere para proteger nuestra inversión en equipos electrónicos , en mi caso de sonido.

If you have multiple things to turn off, including speakers, this is what you need. My 2nd Furman product, but my 1st power sequencer. It saved me from the dreaded "speaker pop". And it was bad. Turning off a surround sound setup of speakers including subwoofer, very disturbing. Being able to gently cycle down the system with 3 delayed outlets saved the day. It was an easy decision because my 1st Furman conditioner is now about 15 years old still providing clean noise-free power. This one is currently doing the same, and is very easy on the speakers. Highly recommended.

Be careful, this is NOT the new version of the PS-8R II, but part of their Merit line. This is what they call a sacrificial unit (replace or service the unit in case of a power protection kicks in). This does not have their great non-sacrifitial SMP, EVS and LiFT features present in the now unavailable PS-8R II power sequencer.
