Since SAP is emphasizing recent developments in operations management in its SCM initiative, this book describes the methodological background from the viewpoint of a company using SAP systems. It describes order processing both in an intra- and interorganizational perspective, as well as describing future developments and system enhancements. Review: Absolutely Recommended !! - As leader of a customer dervice dept. in a company who just implemented SAP, I can only recommend this book. Not only because its relevance to SAP users, but also because it is a very easy to read and excellent written introduction to modern supply chain management and it's basic functions and challenges. No matter if you use SAP or not, you will like this book if you are beginning to deal with supply chain improvements from a basic level. Read this before any other supply chain book and then compare. I am sure you will come back to this publication over and over again. Review: Five Stars - excellent

Poorly written
I purchased this book to understand how SAP manages the supply chain, but am pretty disappointed with it. The book apparently was translated from German and is not well written. It feels like the majority of the book is sited from other sources (there are 17 pages of references if this gives you any hint). They will throw five quotes into the same paragraph in some cases. This makes the book very hard to read, it just doesn't flow. Snipits are inserted that really don't fit. It feels like the author's don't really have anything to contibute, they just grabbed other quotes and through a book together. I will probably resell this book and find one that actually makes sense when you read it. Sorry, but I recommend looking elsewhere if you actually want to learn something.
