This solar WHITE Light is more than you expect !! Awesome
I don’t do many reviews you’ll see that but I give honest reviews never negative but this SOLAR LIGHT is so fantastic. I had to share what I could. This light is not only collapsible and very small. It uses solar, no power, no batteries, set it in the window leave it in the window so it stays fully charged until you need it. The light is 60 Lumens bright which is a huge amount of brightness ( mnf, pls don’t downsize the lights) I understand they’re great for camping, but they’re great for a lot of things, sitting out in the evening on the deck having a cocktail for when you want a little ambience lighting (love ambiance lighting) you need a little nightlight for a kid. It has three modes, bright, medium, and low. You could light the way up a porch, up a driveway. You could hang them from a rope under big trees to make the ambience in a yard more beautiful you are only limited by your own imagination as to where you can place one or many of these lights that cost nothing to run/ flatten to nothing when in window, However, the bad news is they’re OUT OF STOCK online. I see they have other colors and that’s great. I’m sure a lot of people will like those however, I need the WHITE. I was lucky enough to buy a handful of these when they were available and they are the perfect Christmas gift or anytime at all don’t limit yourself, get creative with lighting that will keep giving in soooo many ways not just lights out, and give to people Who you care about. It’s the perfect light to use over a flashlight, which is a one beam, hand held, where this is much wider/ hanging for people you love in case their power goes out. Of course it’s good for camping, enjoying the evening outside without lighting candles, and not turning on the big yard light Again this light can be used for so many things. I haven’t even imagined yet. It’s a wonderful product I wanted to buy many more and give them away as Christmas gifts but as I logged on just now, I found out that the white light are no longer in stock so if I could please just say to the “manufacturer” of this product that I’m if you could get that exact light back IN STOCK in the color of white, that would be fantastic. I’m sure there’s lots of other people out there who feel the same way I do they want the light to be WHITE clearly white is the most popular and the three dimmable phases so if you can get that light back “exactly” like it was Before Same look same strength not giving up any of its great qualities. I’d order a lot more extra because as word gets out that this is the greatest most compact expandable ultra bright light you’re gonna sell out again, so I’m gonna try to keep my eye open for when this comes back And buy enough to hold me over for gifts anyday of the year Birthday, but it’s worth it well worth it. I’ve attached a video to show you exactly how bright the light is how thin the light is and all you do is set it in the window and forget it then when you need it, it’s available and fully charged with all the light a person could possibly need I’ll get extras when it comes available Not only to give as gifts but to have in various rooms for various reasons I have a friend who likes to read late at night and she keeps hers next to her bed on very low so she can have the ambience while she’s reading without having the bright light And glowing up the whole room while her other is sleeping. Thank you for the product. It’s wonderful one does not buy a lot of products that are this wonderful. This one’s really that great. thank you.

GREAT 4 Emergency!
Originally purchased this lantern for walking the dog in the evening and for emergency power outages. So far, it’s perfect for walking the dog with the Goal Zero Crush Light attached to the leash because it’s not as harsh/offensive as my Coleman lantern (which is enough to light up the whole neighborhood). My cousin (avid outdoorsman) claims that on the “LOW” setting that it’s perfect for weekend tent camping (approximately 2-3 days); he has a dedicated Crush Light Velcro-attached inside his cooler. I wish it was brighter (when used on LOW for backyard/garage purposes) and also wished it lasted longer than 26-29 hours on LOW without having to recharge. It’s a great “nite light” or emergency lightning for short-term power outages, however, I feel that it should last longer (again) than 3 hours on HIGH, 6 hours on MEDIUM and 26-29 hours on LOW. I purchased 2 on Amazon and also hoped for “bulk pricing” but there were no options to date (February 2021). I will definitely purchase more in the near future (for myself and for gifts) but I also purchased BioLite Sunlight (also from Amazon) which is brighter and lasts longer. Overall, I highly recommend purchasing this Goal Zero Crush Light because it’s lightweight and one can stash it in their “Go Bag”, keep it as emergency lighting at home/car, lighting for backyard, reading at night, etc. The Crush Light is also rechargeable via sunlight (albeit long, 18-22 hours of direct sunlight depending on where you are). If you’re able to, take it out on your front porch or backyard to get some solar charging. The Crush Light will automatically shut off when it reaches “Low Battery” mode, however it seems to have a “spare” of almost 2 hours after it shuts off which should give you 1-2 hours after you turn it back on. It’s definitely lightweight and can be charged via sunlight or micro USB. It’s aesthetically pleasing; very good design which can be used upside down (mood lighting) or partially “crushed” depending on your needs. I absolutely love the design! A family friend has 4-5 scattered throughout their Airstream Basecamp and it looks like they just “belong” inside. They used the 3M Command Hooks to hang the Crush Light and made it look light it was there on purpose. I already purchased 3M hooks so I can use the Crush Light(s) in my backyard this summer. Honestly, it’s not perfect for me but it’s perfect for my family’s needs which why I gave it 5 stars.

Better than Expected, Great Lightweight Light
Purchased these for back-up when power goes out after having a small solar desk lamp for 10 years that still does a great job. The video attached shows the three light settings, dim, medium, and bright. It arrives in test mode, and it can be turned into standard on/off mode by holding the power button 10 seconds. These are fantastic lights that would be great for camping, or other travel needs as they are extremely lightweight and collapsable for easy transport. My initial charging is with the USB cord that comes with the light, solar charging capable as well. The handle is removable and can be used to hang the light. The wide base gives the light stability to prevent it from falling over. The power button turns on and off easily, with a mini USB plug spot on the opposite side for direct charging. The collapsable cone amplifies the light as it is pulled outward. Will update review if there are any issues with the battery life. Happy to have these in the emergency supply kit!

Excellent product!
A simple and attractive design, durable materials, collapses truly flat. The three illumination settings of Hi, Med and Low are just that, Hi is enough to be useful as an area light, Med for when you don't need Hi, and Low makes a good night light. There a couple of small hanger holes around two edges if you want to wall-mount the light. The USB charging is fast enough to get to a fully charged state without having to be concerned with it being too fast. All in all, I'll likely get a couple more, they're just well-designed and very useful.

Good little camp/night light
This is a good light for car camping, camping in general and as a night light. I mostly use the white setting on it because it is a "warm" white which was super important to me. It is also dimmable which is awesome. The collapsibility of it is great as well. I really like the light BUT i did notice it selling at $35-$36 and that is why i am writing this review. That is A LOT of money for this item in my opinion. I paid $24 and thought that was on the steep side of things. It's a cool light but $35 is highway robbery IMO. Wait for a sale at least or look elsewhere.

Well designed for camping and emergency lighting
Goal Zero has always had a reputation for innovative and useful design. The Crush Light Solar Powered Lantern doesn't disappoint. It is all that the advertising promises... small when compacted, bright when needed and long lasting on its low setting. I got one initially and put it through its paces. The advertised times for high, medium, and low output are close to my experiance. I was especially impressed by the output of the low setting. I can hang it about two feet above my head and read easily with only its light output in an otherwise dark room. On low I get 24 hours consistently. It is a little less than the 30 hours as advertised, but that is still impressive when the power goes out and you need light to move around the house or to light common spaces like a kitchen or bathroom. Likewise it can get you through a three day camping trip easily. As expected the higher settings will last less. But I find they are overkill and will not be needed often. As for the design, I found it very convenient. the collapsed state packs easily into a backpack or stands on a windowsill to keep it charged with the built-in solar panel. While we are on the subject of solar let me make a point about solar expectations. If you expect to take this or any solar powered device into the backcountry on a long hike and think that you will use the solar to recharge it after it is empty, you will have a hard experiance. Solar is SLOW to recharge. Only the largest solar panels will provide strong recharge ability and then only if they are in bright sunlight for many hours. As for the Crush Light, Goal Zero stated to me that the expected time to fully recharge a dead light from solar is 20 hours. That's 20 hours in direct, bright sun. For all practical purposes that means 3 days. So forget about charging while waking along a wooded trail or on overcast days. Please understand that the most practical way to recharge the Crush Light is via the USB cable from a wall outlet or portable battery pack. Then once fully charged place it on a windowsill with good sun exposure to keep it topped off. That is the best emergency preparedness way to use the light. If you follow this routine, you will always have a fully charged light when you need it most. Build quality seemed good, especially considering its low cost. The shaded sides are thick enough to expect years of service. The removable handle is strong and well attached. the entire electronic module with solar on the top, battery inside, and LED lights on the bottom is solid and protected from the elements. A short USB cord is supplied with the light that can cleverly act as an alternate handle to hang the light upside down for a more romantic feel. Just thread the small end of the cord down through one of the side loops on the light's frame. Then cross over and thread it up through the opposite loop it should stay in place with a quarter turn and act as a handle to hang the light upside down. It's also a convenient way to store the cord to prevent loss. The best part of the Crush Light is its cost. At under $20 it gives you a lot of usefulness and emergency piece of mind for very little money. The value to cost ratio of this Goal Zero product is very high indeed. I recommend that you consider this as a perfect stocking stuffer for family. When the power outage hits they will be glad you thought of the Crush Light.

This thing is awesome!
My dad sent us one of these as a gift. It was supposed to be for us to use in the backyard, but I quickly adopted it as my bedside light (which I use while my husband is asleep, so a lamp is too bright). My daughter loved it too, so I also bought a 2nd one for her. I accidentally ordered the plain white-light one, though I prefer this color one. Didn't read the choices well enough so now I have an extra. Oh well. This light is neat for many reasons. (1) It has 3 brightnesses for the basic white light. The dimmest one is fabulous for non-disruptive bedside light (2) Because of it's pop-up design, the more you open it, the brighter it is, and the more you flatten it, the dimmer it is. So within the 3 brightness settings, you also have fine-tuning controls, essentially. (3) It has little holes for hooks or strings on 2 sides, as well as a handle - you can hang it so many ways! And you can just use a little stick-on hook and flatten it and have a nice little light, or whatever. Options! (4) You charge it instead of using batteries! And it uses the same cord as nearly all cell phones! So I just plug it into my bedside phone charger when it dies (and it lasts a good long while, too) (5) It has candlelight mode! Flicker, flicker! (6) Colors! You can do a color-changing setting, or set it to just one color - again, brighter if open / dimmer as it's flattened. Sometimes I read by cyan half flattened. It's got a nice contrast. (7) It's light, and can be flattened, so super portable! And it opens to be fairly tall! If used outdoors it's not going to be one of those super-bright lanterns that lights your whole campground. But it will be a nice ambient light that is plenty bright to do stuff by, and makes an awesome indoor light as well. And it's fun for kids to play with - which is why my dad bought it for us to start with. :)

very useful packable light
[update] like this light so much i picked up 2 chroma lights as well. you can't go wrong with either model. used out camping and when power was out at home. great lights. [original review] picked up the original model. 3 light levels plus "candle flicker" mode. folds flat to just under an inch in height. micro-usb or solar chargeable. detachable loop, and 2 side hoops you can hang from. light weight. small. makes a great light in an emergency or for camping. wish the run time was longer, but no packable light is infinite. and it's "weather proof" so i don't have to worry if it gets rained on outside my tent. all-in-all, i'm very happy with my purchase. i might pick up a couple more, or the chroma model for some colors. can certainly recommend this light.

Incredible Purchase. Must-Have for Backcountry
Recently went on a 5 day backcountry canoe trip and we purchased a Goal Zero Lighthouse Micro before leaving. It’s extremely compact, light and bright. We did however find ourselves “managing” how much we used it. It did last the entire trip, some card games during rain storms and midnight trips to the thunder box. This lantern eliminates the worry of running out of battery. It’s a perfect packable size and weighs relatively nothing. The handle is perfect for adding a carabiner and hanging from a tree, the loft in your tent, or even just having it sit flat at your site. There are two loops on either side of the light that allows you to hang it vertically on a tree off a small branch or nail which is extremely convenient The added bonus of the solar panel eliminates any worry of managing your light at night. I will be purchasing several more as a gift. Highly recommended, a definite must have for ultralight backpackers.
