It is more important to keep the blade sharp, than whether your knives are inexpensive or very costly, so you need a high quality sharpening stone and proper instruction. The DeBell Sharpening Stone is made of natural stone, It has excellent features of self-sharpening, particle distribution is consistent and precise hardness. Before use, you should read our instructions to produce the sharpest blade: Step 1: soak the sharpening stone in water for 5-10 minutes, place it on a sturdy flat surface. (drop water on the sharpening stone surface while sharpening, although it has been soaked) Step2: 10000 grit side for sharpening: A: Dominate hand is to maintain the proper angle of the blade, the opposite hand use 3 or 4 fingers to apply pressure, have the back of the blade lead the knife across the entire whetstone surface. B: works with one side at a time, once you feel a slight burr on the opposite side of the edge, then change side until you feel slight burr too, using short upward motion remove the burrs. C: when looking directly at the blade, you should see blade line.

Very, very good value for money. For a stone that will be extremely useful.
For the money, this stone is exactly what I wanted. It will wear away very quickly. For me that's not a problem at all. I shall run a naniwa flattening stone over it to attempt to keep it mostly flat. As I'll mostly be sharpening folding knives the overall flatness should not be a really adverse problem. One corner on the underside was damaged a little. However, I really don't see this as being a problem at all. In fact I have already ordered a second stone. EDIT: My second stone turned up and I'm very pleased with the new stone. Same as I was impressed with the first stone.Remember me remarking on what appeared to be a damaged corner on the underside? Well this stone has it as well. This it would seem to me is done on purpose to indicate the difference between the top of the stone and the bottom.I feel that it may possible to use the underside of these stones regardless of the underside corners having been removed.I've had a very good look at the surfaces where these corners are and have decided that they do indeed seem to have been removed on purpose. Despite this, I feel that the underside could be used for sharpening as well as the top side. Some preparation on the bottom of the stone would in all likely need to be dressed prior to using. Both stones have a very slight wavy surface that will be difficult to measure. However, a quick dressing with a cleaning stone would probably bring a very nice finish. I'm only using my stones for hand sharpening and a little bit of flattening/dressing of the stones surfaces should bring about a good result.

Impressed.
Did not really know what to expect with this stone but the price was good so I went for it. I wanted a very high grit finishing stone and was also interested in using a natural stone to compliment my synths.I used another small smooth piece of stone to create a slurry and set about putting the final grind on my J Knives. Slow at first with little feedback but this is a pretty fine grit stone so it was expected. I carried on for a few more minutes and started to feel a keen edge on my blade, I softened the pressure and spent a little longer on it and created a very good edge indeed.I would recommend this stone to anyone that wants to try their first Chinese natural stone as the price is very good and the package is very pleasing with a mat to grip the stone and a small spray bottle to keep the stone damp during honing. This stone has improved with usage and works well with Shirogami #2 Aogami #2 and extremly well with SKS93.

A very nice finish
It is a very fine whetstone, it feels like the blade is gliding across water, but it definitely leaves a very nice finish on my knives. I used it yesterday on my chefs knife, worked my way up from a 3000 grit to this 10,000 grit. Very pleased with the finish and accidentally cut through my fingernail with ease whilst using my knife last night.

Excellent Value for Money
Natural stones can vary a lot and can be expensive. The grit on this stone is similar to 20k which reduces the need for stropping and really extends the time between honings. Like all stones, it needs flatting off before use and you do need plenty of water when you use it. Unless you are a real officianardo you won’t need anything more expensive. At half the price of similar products you get the same results. Highly recommended.

Affordable quality finishing stone
A very nice polishing stone which is slightly longer than most standard whetstones. Very easy to use and leaves a mirror polish on my blades. I have used this on both kitchen and outdoor knives and have had a mirror polish with a razor sharp edge.Only downside I have seen is a few pits in the stone which could prove a issue at somepoint in the future.Overall a fantastic and very affordable stone

Want a sharp knife, get this and a strop
Good quality, but leave it to soak for 30mins the first time you use itor it's a bit gritty. Mine had a chunk missing from the corner but doesn't impact the usage.
