Apache Mills Eco Mat Squares Entrance Door Mat, 4-feet by 6-Feet, Onyx

This mat is the Hummer of doormats. I had trouble finding room for it in my small front hallway, but once I did, I am delighted with it. In this snow-filled Boston winter, a zillion people are trekking dirt and snow and salt in on their boots and this unobtrusively catches most of it. Even when people don't take the time to wipe, this absorbs a lot just by being underneath for the first few steps.The material is very solid and a pleasure to walk on and catches a lot of grit. The only reason I don't give it five stars (and this is possibly unfair) is that it's hard to vacuum. The grit gets into the nooks and crannies and you need to spend a good amount of time to get it clean.Another issue I had, which I am not marking down for but which I want people to know, is that the thickness means that you may not be able to open the door if you put it right in front. My front door won't swing open with this in front, so I ended up placing it a few feet inside, which works fine. I probably buy another, thinner doormat to cover the gap.

Excellent quality doormat, with nice grooves to catch all the grime or snow off your shoes. Also doesn't have you tracking fibers from the mat into the house like the "natural" type do. My only word of caution is that it's not super thin, so if you are putting it in a mud room like I did, and have it under a door with the rubber weather proofing on the bottom, there's a pretty good chance it will drag over the top a bit. Doesn't bother me, but if it would bother you, consider looking for a slimmer option.

The only thing that would make this product better is if it came in a different size. I need a 3' x 4' mat, so had to buy 2 mats at 2' x 3' each and lay them side-by-side. Inevitably the seam down the middle separates. The next size up is too large for the space, and I'm not handy enough to sew the two together or glue them or whatever Martha Stewart would do.

It might be too much to say that this carpet changed my life - but I'm going to go there. With 2 kids, one messy husband, and a puppy we had mud being tracked all over my new hardwood floors. I was literally driving myself crazy with clean up. Well we placed this at our entry way and it catches absolutely everything! Mud, leaf debris, pebbles and my clean up is non-existent. I just go over it with the vacuum and it's like new. HIGHLY recommend this!

This mat is great for trapping dirt and doesn’t slide around at all on my floor.

I purchased this mat to use in my dogs' crate because the stuffed cloth dog crate beds are impossible to clean. I was concerned that this mat might be too flimsy and that the corners would curl up and be chewed by the dogs. Not so. The mat is nice and thick, and the dogs seem to like it just fine. I throw in a few old towels on top of the mat, and they make themselves a cozy bed. When it's time to clean, the mat gets hosed off and the towels get washed. Easy as can be!

The mat I received had ribs, not the woven texture pictured. The rubber backing wasn't that thick, but OK, didn't look like recycled tires.
